What is the city named after?

Looks promising. Has a rather classic look to it. I'd love to test, if possible. I just need to find my discs and see if I can get it to work on my PC. :)
I can't wait for the day schools get the money they need, and the military has to hold bake sales to afford bombs.

Actually JED went open source or something and one of the Massassi community members modified it into ZED. Haven't used it myself but that's the latest editor of choice FYI.

Also lulz at JKEdit and it costing money back in the day. And LOOK at all the TOOLBARS omg.

JKEdit is for people who can't visualize things in 3 dimensions.

The reson I use JKEdit is because it is the editor i found first and got acustomed to it.

Looks ok.
Good base design.
OK texture usage.
Overall not bad. But JKEdit has limitations.
Not biased, when possible i use both in tandem, easier to make break glass etc in JKEdit lol.

I think that is because 9 out of 10 people make 2 levels with it and move on.
I however have made many levels that i did not release to get good at it first

Following the rule "never release your first level." for me this is like my tenth.

Massassians being nice to a guy who made a level in JKEdit? The apocalypse countdown has begun.

On a more serious note, are you planning on adding any lighting?

Haha this comment made me laugh out loud!

It's a good start, but it still has some areas it could be improved.

First, as someone already mentioned, there needs to be more variety with the lighting.

Secondly, your architecture is too boxy. Try adding more angles, and detail to the walls and ceilings to break up the monotony a bit. Things like arches, 3do pipes, alcoves with computer screens, etc. Remember that this is science fiction. Perhaps try looking at some screen caps from the Star Wars movies for inspiration.

I'd also recomend replacing the ceiling texture you're using in the 4th and 6th pictures in your original post.

It looks like it's off to a good start though, and it's nice to see someone still editing JK.

GameCam, Cam Studio and Fraps, are worth checking out.

Also, I would suggest maybe tinkering with the scale of some of the rooms. They all look very large, which is okay for a hanger and such, but other rooms would look better if proportioned to the height of the player.

It's MotS!

More colored lighting, tighter archi, cutscenes and a release and I'll love you big time.

The 4th screenshot is probably my favorite.

My impressions, over all of the pics shown, it seems very large and barren. I'm (mostly) a functionalist, ie everything should seem like it could have a purpose [function] or do something, and so much empty unused space just seems like something wants to be there, but something else is holding them back. The first few shots are good with respect to space, and large exterior areas are very difficult to populate in JK (but it can be done with reasonable levels), but it seems like the city planners used all their money to only clean the walls but not use them for lights or signs (which are simple things to add and can take away the blank space in my mind). Anyways, noone really pays attention to me, but then again, it allows me to say the apocalypse will begin in 5 days because noone is flaming the JKEdit... :tinfoil:

Not so sure you needed to dramatize that whole before and after image thing, given that all you did was add a hexagonal pillar and some colored lighting, but it still looks cool nonetheless.
