...anyone else use it? I think it's kind of nice. Fast too. Definitely tailored to my tastes...

Well, I've had my e-mail account with Netscape for over 5 years, I'd thought I'd try the browser out...

I downloaded it because I needed it to view my school's web site (I was fixing it, it was broken in netscape), and then spent a 15 minutes resetting defaults.. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif]

In case you didn't know, both Netscape and Firebird are built off the Gecko rendering engine. That engine was built to power the latest netscape and is open source (which is why many browsers are using it nowadays). The advantage to getting Firebird or another "non official netscape" is that you get all your popup blocking features (disabled in some versions of netscape) and no embedded advertising or paid link fests. They are also generally faster and sleeker than the official Netscape. So if you like netscape, try out Firebird.

Brian is right, save for one point. Netscape 7 uses an old version of Gecko. With every release of Firebird, bugs are fixed and features are added to Gecko. Because of that, the latest builds of Firebird will run and render better than Netscape, event though it is the ``same'' engine...

Ok, not really, but for some reason that statement alone is enough to send legions of people into nerd heart failure, complete with foam bubbling from corners of the mouth. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif] It's not a good look however...wipe your chin.

I don't really have a preference on a web browser...

I've used Mozilla, Firebird, Opera, IE, Netscape 4 to 7 and I can't really tell the diffrence they all show the same page.
