Is there a version of the Holy Bible in a "historical fiction novel" format, following the same chapter structure?

I know there's a lot of Christian fiction, or something referred as "Biblical novels", but Google didn't give me any actual Bible rewrites.

Might check out the book 'hero' by Stephen Lawhead.

Quote:
On this undercover assignment, Special Agent Alex Hunter is getting way more than he ever bargained for. Charged by ICON--the International Coalition of Nations--to penetrate a secret terrorist cell headed by a man called The Prophet, he swiftly finds himself entangled in a web of mysterious people and dangerous events. Violence and betrayal dog his every step.

Mmm... Doesn't look like a novelization / dramatization of the Bible to me, in all fairness. Though "Betrayal Dog" does sound cool in a sentence. :)

if i remember correctly "the prophet" is John the baptist. It's a really modernized fiction of the "gospels" not sure if that fits what you were looking for.

I think it would be better if they turned the bible into an anime series.

Just read the Baroque Cycle, it's damn close to scripture.
And when the moment is right, I'm gonna fly a kite.

Isn't it already historical fiction?
Also, I can kill you with my brain.

Yah, it's definitely somewhere on my To-Read list.

>> Isn't it already historical fiction?

But it just isn't any fun to read.

Anyway, I think I know what I might be doing for the next NaNoWriMo. :)

Oh, well if you want fun to read.. how about an annotated comic? Much more entertaining than a novel.

But also, actual books that are actually topical:

You guys know that interlude in 1984 that's a copy of Emmanuel Goldstein's manifesto? Well, the novelization of the Bible has basically that interlude inserted over and over again every three pages or so.
