Hey guys, I'm working on a project and was wondering what your all time favorite custom Jedi Knight and or MOTS levels are/were and why?

Thank You

I always really enjoyed Darth J's Mos Espa map in its various iterations (there was a new version about once a week), but I'm not sure if he ever released it publicly.

A tie between Birth of a Mercenary: Special Edition and Leeza's Destiny 3.0.

No joke.

I haven't played that many MotS levels, and never played MotS multi, but from what I did play, I'd probably say the single player levels from Anthony's Birth of the Mercenary: SE. I've also heard very good things about FGR's TODOA, but haven't went through the hassle of reinstalling the game for it TBH.

Birth of a Mercenary SE (MotS SP) - and by extension, ToaM 1 and 2
Not only did it feel like it had succeeded in recreating the Star Wars (ANH/ESB) "feel" (generally and via some nice references), it had plenty of good narrative, good and smooth gameplay and even a handful of nice jokes "How do you turn this bloody thing off!?"

Also, if you ever wonder why a 'FastGamerr' exists, you can thank this mod for making me end up in TACC and after a few weeks, register here.

Leeza's Destiny 3 (MotS SP)
These two are the most important JK user-made content for me, and they sort of compliment each other. It also feels very much like "Star Wars" as well, especially in invoking similarities with the Thrawn trilogy and Dark Forces (which in turn I still think is the most Star Wars'y SW game of them all).

If BoaM:SE made me decide to edit JK again and discover TACC (in 2001, even if I had quit playing JK/MotS already in 1999), it was this mod that made me want to make Dark Forces DFM (lol) and thus register here for editing help.

Could go on in detailed fashion for some other entries, but I'll just list the JK/MotS SP levels I really liked during my "second JK era" from 2001-2004:

Liberating Cloud City (MotS SP)
Rebel Agent (MotS SP)
A Pirate's Tale (MotS SP)
Mechanics of the Force (JK SP)
Siege at Vol Kanst (JK SP)
Galaxy of Fear (MotS SP)
Dawn of a Downfall (MotS SP)

Would probably list more, but those were the first ones that popped into my head. Of course, the list could be expanded even further (for instance including all of Goit's projects and Siege on Derra IV) but I only listed the mods I had actually played through before 2005 instead. And even then, the first two are the ones I actually want to be remembered above all.

Woah, shocking plot twist at the end of that thread. I remember that. :)

Fusion (CTF) by Mormegil – This is easily the best custom CTF map made for JK. I think that there were many CTF players that would even rate it above The Challenge At Nar Shaddaa (I would personally call it a close second). The scope & attention to detail were exactly what the high-level players craved & anyone that hasn't played it has missed out on one of the best multi-player experiences in the history of gaming.

http://www.massassi.net/levels/files/943.shtml

Ground Zero II (CTF) by Mantissa – This map offered a good combination of run & gun (like what you'd get when playing The Arena of Dark & Light) with hide & seek (like what you'd get with The Challenge At Nar Shaddaa) but wasn't quite intricate enough to satisfy the desires of most serious players for prolonged periods of time. However, it was my go-to map for instant CTF gratification.

Four Pillars (DM) by Killer Bee – This was probably the most underrated & overlooked Full Force (FF) gun level in the history of JK. The angle of the ramps & the layout of the map offered for some high-level Force Speed+Jump combinations that can't be matched by any other map. It's for 2v2 FF guns what Canyon Oasis was for 1v1 FF guns. Unfortunately, despite my advocation to the FF guns community, I failed to popularize the map & it was largely ignored.

Riot (DM) by Killer Bee

http://www.massassi.net/levels/files/229.shtml

Starbase Training (DM) by Home_Sliced

http://www.massassi.net/levels/files/242.shtml

I would also like to point out some maps that were enjoyable to play but would probably crumble under any measure of scrutiny beyond “just plain fun”. Some of them were merely levels that were fun to explore (Imperial Skyscraper) &/or to goof off in (e.g. Jawa Dwelling SE skydiving).

  • Cardia SE
  • Empire Nightclub
  • Hangar 217
  • Imperial Skyscraper
  • Jawa Dwelling SE
  • Jedi High School
  • Jedi Pool
  • Morpheus
  • The City R1

Note: I focused on multi-player levels with my list because I didn't care much for single-player in those days. The only single-player levels that I even remember bothering with were from One Rebel's Sacrifice (ORS).
? :)

These were exactly the other two maps I wanted to mention, but I couldn't remember what they were. Thanks! KillerBee also made Riot, which was another great but underplayed map.

I also remember a map called Starship Training (or something along those lines) being great for nf/ff guns.

I had forgotten about Riot & Starbase Training--both great maps that I played frequently. I added them to my list.

I think he might have done a release at one point, but he definitely kept improving on it. It looked pretty impressive by the end.

Besides that level, I really liked Drazen Isle.

Hey man, why no love for the second level that comes up if you sort JK MP levels by rating (descending)? JG_JiggaJagga = Kroko

And no love for the level not made in JED but with the blood poured straight from his heart? Look how gorgeous it looks with TODOA TC MP!

It would always crack me up that he would give us a more or less finished version of it, and then the next day he would already have something pretty much completely different. And he never played the maps with us at all.
