I love Coors Light.
2013-02-26, 5:04 PM #1
Seriously. I dislike beer in general and am almost strictly a hard liquor drinker, mainly reposado Tequila. But I could drink Coors Light all day (and I have) and I'm not afraid to admit it. Anybody on board?
2013-02-26, 5:07 PM #2
No, I'm a local beers kinda guy. Maine breweries have spoiled me, and I can't drink light beer unless I'm purposefully going for quantity over quality (such as parties).

light beer just makes me piss so much I miss out on stuff and doesn't get me drunk until I've had >10 :saddowns:
DO NOT WANT.
2013-02-26, 5:54 PM #3
i am sober again , but i agree coors light is ok.

but also ... so many tastey beers in maine.

grittys is my fav by far. sebago and shipyard are just as good thor

If you enjoy swilling carbonated piss, sure.

I'll take a witbier or a milk stout any day of the week. At the tavern down the street I usually start with something new then finish with a couple Blue Moons.
Also, I can kill you with my brain.

I'm clearly not a very large person, but it takes too many of those to get drunk for it to be worth it. I also can't drink carbonated beverages anymore because of acid reflux, but I didn't need the encouragement.

to phrase the OP differently

"I don't like beer but i can drink trailer park swill all day"

BTW you can probably drink it all day because it's almost water

I get it. I really do. There's something special about it.

I don't understand the "How can you drink that crap, it's basically water!" argument. I get it all the time when people see me drinking one. You can't say you hate it because it taste like crap/piss/swill then talk about how it has no flavor at all and is basically water. No **** it's close to water. Fizzy water. Fizzy water that gets you buzzed for about the same price as cheap soda or actual fizzy water. So what's the problem?
2013-02-26, 10:57 PM #11
Hey, you're a cheap drunk. Brag about it. But it really isn't the same for me. I hate buying beer for parties because I still have to get myself something to mix so I can have 3 drinks instead of 12.

Aren't you embarrassed to vindicate light American beer when you realize some Europeans may be listening?
2013-02-26, 11:41 PM #13
I make a point to vindicate light American beer (as well as V8 engines, fast food, and guns) specifically when I know Europeans are listening. It's the American thing to do.

Another Coors Light in the freezer ready to be consumed. I just wish I had bottles, I swear it tastes funny coming out of a can. Kind of like how weed tastes funny when you smoke it out of a can.

I don't even think I'm a cheap drunk. I also buy Guinness from time to time which is pretty expensive and I'm a sucker for various forms of hard apple cider which ain't cheap either. I always have at least 1 or 2 varieties of 100% agave tequila on hand which can be cheap but is usually expensive.

I just really love Coors Light.

You just want me to link to that Monty Python video again!

Instead, I'm going to tell yet another yawn-tastic Nikumustory: the only American beers I've seen in the Grand Finnish Soviet Socialist™ Alcohol Monopoly Stores have been Anchor Steam Beer and Anchor Liberty Ale.

They were quite nice.

Everybody raves about Anchor around here...I grew up 30 miles from where they make it. I haven't tried it but I suspect if I did, I would feel the same way I've felt about almost every other "real" beer I've tried.

The entire reason you enjoy Coors Light is that you don't like beer. Which is fine. It's not for everyone.

If someone's paying, I'll drink some [insert generic beer here]. However, I certainly don't go out of my way to drink [insert generic beer here]. In the states I downed a ****-ton of BBC's Bourbon Barrel Stout & Nut Brown Ale (both wonderful) & there was this bar on my corner (Seidenfaden's) that had the coldest ****ing Stella Artois possible & my wife & I would sometimes stop there on our walk home from a hard day's work. I mostly drink Belgian (Duvet & Leffe are pretty common) & French (Kronenbourg 1664 or Pelforth blonde are the most common) beer over here. I would also like to add that I've always thought that Heneiken tastes like **** & there's nothing that pisses me off more than expecting a Kronenbourg or Pelforth only to be surprised with said feces in my mouth. I'd rather have a ****ing Pabst Blue Ribbon or a ****ing Coors than a Heneiken any day.

? :)

It's important to draw the distinction between real beer and cheap beer. Cheap beer exists pretty much solely to get wasted off of.

I don't drink alcohol to get drunk, and I don't even like the taste of beer in general (regardless of "real" or "cheap"). I end up drinking a mixed drink or something like... once every couple months or so.

Sigh.... Just the other day I also had the misfortune to witness a Harvard physicist find occasion to use "pounds / inch²" in an undergraduate course (written as recently as 2009). :nonono:

coors or bud light honestly does not bother me. They taste meh... but they are very drinkable if you just want a cheap drink. I really try to stay away from anything anheuser busch has finger prints on though. (and miller coors to a lesser degree.)

No.

Comparing coors light to any good beer is like comparing a ferrarri to a go-cart, A Gerber knife to a disposable plastic butter knife, 5 star dining to an all you can eat buffet of dirty diapers.

Only a double duece of your cheap schwill water costs 3 bucks and decent 6 packs start at around $7.

What you are drinking is not beer. It is watered down alcohol rice water.
2013-02-27, 5:55 PM #29
Oh and by the by. IF you're like how I used to be (an alcoholic) and you need to get buzzed all day, start buying malt liquor. It's even cheaper, tastes more like bull urine, and does THE SAME JOB your low-piss taste pisswater.

It'll get you ****ED UP! You'll be ****ing FAT *****ES in no time bruh!

I hate to take the level of dicktitude ( [c]. 2013 ) a step further but even a Colt45 tastes better than Coors & it has the added benefit of sparking Billy D. Williams references (something that doesn't happen often).

get me some icehouse/busch light.

This is now a "what are you drinking?" thread.

Goose Island Pepe Nero. Because if my beer money's going to go to a faceless foreign-based multinational conglomerate, at least it's going to get me something tasty.
