Strangest and most memorable spaces
2013-05-14, 9:57 AM #1
Post some strange and memorable spaces you've seen.

Preferences:
  • Strange over common or famous
  • Urban over natural
  • Existing in reality over virtual space
  • Links or attachments of pictures and videos

I'll start with some of my favorites I've personally experienced, even if they're not the strangest I've seen via media. The first is a mall area in Central Perth, which I found memorable in part because it was mostly underground (I rather like underground spaces) and not its own particular building complex, which I hadn't seen before. The second is a walkway across a road into the city park, which I found memorable because I'm a sucker for spiral walkways, and this is a variation I hadn't seen.

I badly want to make a kerning joke here. But I'll refrain.
Also, I can kill you with my brain.

I had debated saying "architecture" instead of "spaces" and thought it may have been too limiting.

Ah, Massassi of 2013.

Anyway, once again Geb's post simply frightens me due to its braininess. Now, I really don't get any images over "memorable spaces" but as far as "strange places I'd like to visit" go, I've always thought abandoned subway stations are pretty kewl. In theory.

I was impressed by this photograph. It's the Stockholm metro.
