Coffee. All the coffee.
Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.

I'm 24, I think Gold, Tibby and Zloc are younger if they're still around.
nope.

Strangely, I sometimes catch myself wondering about Tibby. I hope he's alive and outside his mom's basement, not hording outdated computers. Last time I've heard, he was exploring the outdoors and thinking about getting some kind of education, so I hope that worked out.

I think I need a heavy drink tonight. What do you guys suggest.

Related note, when did Autodesk become such a serious cluster****? Now that they are pushing their CLOUD CONNECTED stuff, trying out an updated piece of software entails dealing with a handful of other Autodesk shenanigans. Unless I'm doing something wrong.

I can't say I've ever had any problems with Inventor 2015, but that's the only software from them I ever use.
nope.
2014-12-09, 1:16 PM #24
I use Solidworks but looking beyond SolidCAM for milling. I've touched Inventor 2014 because Autodesk bought HSMWorks, and I have a feeling HSMWorks (which is considered already great) will be big thanks to Autodesk's weight behind them.

I pretty much only use Revit... AutoCAD when I have to, but I'm far from proficient. I have no idea what things are like on the Solid/Inventor side of things, but I have no big complaints about the software itself. The whole AutoDesk system is a little ****ed, though.
2014-12-09, 2:52 PM #26
I've been using Autodesk Fusion 360 for my 3d printing models and its uh, special. It's definitely powerful in making models, but it's everything else that really breaks down. I can't stand the "cloud" functionality, it is disgustingly slow for no apparent reason. The file management system in general is just horribly thought out. Also, the software is still quite buggy, which shocks the hell out of me why anyone would pay top dollar for it.
2014-12-09, 4:26 PM #27
There isn't any real competition for most of Autodesk's main products, eh? And Inventor is like a clone of Solidworks (at least it seems from my limited experience).

Inventor is a lot more like SolidEdge than anything else, with the difference in that it's not utter ****.
nope.
