So I'm feeling a bit nostalgic and I want to play some good old X-Wing vs TIE Fighter and X-Wing Alliance. I've tried PPJOY, but the lack of an on screen overlay to show the dead zone is quite annoying. If you've ever played Freelancer, I'm looking for something along those lines.

That's definitely a good start FastGamerr, thank you! But how about an on screen indicator of the deadzone and direction you're moving the mouse ala Freelancer? I may be asking too much in that department....
