(sorry edward. please don't deactivate me)
So, the machine most known for multimedia can't play the MPEG-4 Visual Advanced Simple@L5 format? I'm surprised it doesn't have a library of codecs pre-installled like Linux does. Even the Android can stream it off the network.
But, if Cloud and YouTube is the new standard for all files, I guess I should...
And then it won't display on the forums... You complaining about compatibility?
Btw, IKHandles does not seem to be the best method for these animtions.
Enjoy

Windows isn't best known for multimedia, it's best known for being installed everywhere. Most computer users demand such features, so Windows is obligated to provide them. However, Windows is not designed for multimedia, and indeed handles the workload poorly. Smooth video and audio playback require kernel-level hacks on Windows which degrade the performance of all other processes and devices on the system.
iOS is probably the closest you'd get to an OS which is "known" for multimedia.
Almost nothing uses MPEG4 Part 2 Visual because it is a poorly written specification with a scary license. Use H.263, or even better use MPEG4 Part 10 AVC.can't play the MPEG-4 Visual Advanced Simple@L5 format?
Linux is a kernel. Your distribution may choose to bundle ffmpeg by default. Most don't offer it by default, many don't offer it at all. Your installation of ffmpeg is definitely violating many software patents.I'm surprised it doesn't have a library of codecs pre-installled like Linux does.
Google has a royalty-free license to the MPEG4 LA catalog. They are probably the only company that can legally redistribute ffmpeg.Even the Android can stream it off the network.
Massassi has a youtube tag. But, if Cloud and YouTube is the new standard for all files, I guess I should...
And then it won't display on the forums...
I can watch youtube on my iPhone and iPad, and my Ubuntu desktop. I can't watch your original MPEG4 ASP video on any of those things. You complaining about compatibility?
You've got to put the YT video code only inside the [ youtube ] tags (in this case it's oT_4RC7La6w ).
Thanks, Niku.![]()
It looks cool. I always wonder what Kyle does with his missing hand.
He holsters it.![]()
Another animation using IKConv and Maya.
Quite swank!
Now, how feasible would it be to make JK animations with actual motion capture suits? >_> <_<
And when the moment is right, I'm gonna fly a kite.
