Has anyone downloaded the old games for Steam?

Any modding compatibility issues/Windows 10 issues I should be aware of? How do they run? Any graphics mods out there that bring these games in to this decade?

Yes. Yes. Sometimes. No.

First thing whatsoever, you have to retrieve JK 1.00 CD EXE with the JKVersions Tool before you can do anything. On its own Steam JK is absolutely worthless. And the JKVersions tool didn't seem to work at all two days ago (due to JKHub.net being down since the tool automatically makes a patch for Zeq's latest unofficial patch).

And whether you go the 2008 Unofficial Patch or JK13 route or anything, you're still going to need this wrapper named dgvoodoo to really get it working. I assume that the latest version (2.53) works fine with vanilla (or 2008-patched) JK, but with JK13 you have to use dgvoodoo 2.5 because otherwise it doesn't seem to work.

In fact, anyone with programming knowledge or whatever willing to waste their time would do a massassively useful deed if they made a NeoJKVersions where you'd just need to download the JK 1.01 patch file from anywhere, open it with NeoJKVersions so that you could extract JK 1.00 CD EXE without having to wonder if LEC.com or JKHub.net still exists).

Can't someone just put the necessary files on Skydrive or Dropbox or something, or would that be PIRACY?

(And even if it was PIRACY, would LEC/LA/Disney/whoever even care at this point?)

Actually, some people (as in, the ReTards of jkdf2) have and LEC indeed hasn't given a [hoot] thus far.

Like, in other words, you don't have to worry about not owning JK on Steam or anywhere else, you can just download it off their site.
