I didn't a general ****posting thread about video games, so let's have one. Anything and everything about any game ever. Here's a few topics to get discussions going:

Activision has patented ****ty matchmaking, engineered to make them more money. Will this shape the next CoD or is this just patent trolling entering the games industry? You decide! But the answer is yes.

Someone from Congress recently tried to edit the MGS3 Wikipedia. La li lu le lo confirmed? Or just a fan of the series happens to have a job? You decide! But the answer is la li lu le lo confirmed.

EA recently closed the developer working on the next Star Wars game. Damn! There may never be another good one. Will EA make a good Star Wars game? You decide! But the answer is no, they won't.

Incidentally, this was the first time in ages when I selected "Show threads from the beginning" (from the bottom of the page) and on the first page alone, all threads had been posted/replied to within the past month.

In other words, whose idea was it to get rid of Koobie, huh?

Also funfact about MGS2: Kojima wrote Rose expressly based on real women, i.e. she's basically the only female character who isn't totally based in fantasy. She also works very hard to help Raiden to open up, to see through the lies of the patriots and realize his "mission" was bull**** and to live a better life. Which goes with the meta-narrative that MGS is just roleplay fantasy, and games shouldn't be used for escapism.

And players hated, and still hate, Rose, for feeling she doesn't fit into the plot, and for her nagging Raiden, and so forth. In other words, a huge reason many players hated MGS2 is there was someone akin to a real woman in it. And she plays a pivotal role in the plot, in a good way. If you have time to waste and are an MGS nerd then I'd recommend watching this:

Hmm gonna have to figure out how those people who pretend to be irish once a year do that, because I made a cucumber mead once and it is really green during initial fermentation but that seems to bleach allthe color out of it. That said, I have a plum mead going right now that is sitll a jewel tone reddish color that is amazing.
