it'd be a good place for a rave like the one in the matrix if it weren't for the big windows

Jeez, I never realized how bare the bar was!
I don't know how much artistic liberty you are taking with this, but I sketched up an idea of how to imply more seating.
One method is to create a step down area and stretch an area toward the windows with more tables, or even half-tables protruding from the walls that people could stand at.
The other idea is that you could have pull-out stools that fit flush under the bar.
Speaking of the bar, did anyone else ever muse about how the bartender had to vault over the thing to do his job? A gap in the bar for him to get around would be great for realism, or even just a door behind the bar we can assume leads to a kitchen or employee entrance in the ally.
Awesome work. I cant wait to see where you take this. If you're doing direct remake, or if you add flare, either way, I'm digging it.
Is posting a specific self-created visual design suggestion something that you should ask before doing? Not trying to blast you, PS, just wondering.
Now that you mention it, yes. I should have asked. I'll be more considerate in the future.
I'm not expecting, or trying to coerce my suggestions into the actual project by putting up a visual representation. I just find that I'm poor at describing things spatially, and thought a half-hour mock-up would help illustrate an idea of how to expand the bar from a shooting gallery to a legitimate business location. Sorry, Thrawn if that came off as pretentious.

No worries! I do have sketches of my own that I'm working on, so I don't know that I'll be able to include everything from that, although I do like that step-down idea a lot.
I am psyched that people besides me are interested in looking at this level with fresh eyes!
nuts
anyway, it's definitely UPDATE TIME (?)
I've been crunching for E3 the past several weeks (and was out on trips most of the weekends) so I basically haven't done anything in a while, but I'm hoping to get back to it soon!
Ha, great. I'm just as happy to see some Concrete Genie stuff. What are y'all doing, a booth or stuff for the show floor? Or some kind of presentation?
"Hey Thrawn, here's those Sine Nar screenshots: https://www.dropbox.com/s/se45oktl9t...NE_NAR.7z?dl=0 "
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.
Aw nuts i missed this. Thank you!
Sorry I've been off this project lately--work's been extra busy and i'm taking some online classes that are sucking up a lot of my free time. That's going to wrap up in a couple of weeks though and I'm excited to get back to this project.
Sine's Nar map holds a special place in my heart, haha--looking back at these screenshots I think my brain remembered a lot more detail than was actually there, but regardless, his map had this intense sense of atmosphere that was really uncommon in JO maps back then (including the Ravensoft ones). I think he and Gonk were my favorite mappers, probably? I wonder what they're up to now.
C'est impossible!
e - Wait a minute, that means you saw my new post and didn't reply to it!
That's UNPOSSIBLE!
!!!!
Also I refuse to work on this any more until I get screenshot of the day
If I add an @ to Brian's name does it show up in his notifications?
Careful, Eversor. He just might get new ideas.

Ok, I updated SotD.
I'm never coming back to this hell website
this website is a ****
Oh I must have grabbed the wrong image... link, author, title, and caption; oops. Fixed now.
I thought that was the perfect joke.
SO I ended up with a lot of commitments that meant I couldn't work on this for a while, but I'm hoping to get back into it soon--for now, I'm doing an online texturing mentorship and made those building/spaceship textures a lot better:

Reminds me of all that behind the scenes footage during ANH when they built the Death Star set.

Brian originally gave the SOTD to Phantom-Seraph.
... Then again, he didn't actually revoke his SOTD:

So it's been a busy year but I want to get back to this, finally--one thing I did do was a hologram meant to look as close to the ones in the OT as I could get it. It could use some more work but it basically works as intended which I'm pretty happy with. Now I just need a model of Kyle's dad (Z"L).

Or you can just replace him with that crate.
Morgan Cratearn
This crate holds the secret of the Valley's location. Interesting...
