Only now, thanks to that screenshot, did I fully actually realize that the opening cutscene for JK's first level is supposed to take place in the same place where the level starts.

Which, of course, makes sense but thanks to the graphical disrepancies of the time...

I spent some time thinking about how to resolve some of those discrepancies--the cutscene has a fan in the hallway, and curtains on the booths. I tried fitting the fan in but it didn't work out. Still want to do curtains, though.

I played through the first couple of levels of JK again a week or so ago just for nostalgia. It's the first time I realised just how poorly located the bar was, no wonder there were barely any customers. It was hidden away in the middle of nowhere and to get to it you had to go across a load of walkways and through warehouses.

Bar owner went on Shark Tank to try to secure funding for a new location but was unable to convince Mr. Wonderful and the other sharks that it was an investable business.

I wanted to do something a little different and I really liked the "E-10" design from Solo meant to be kind of a predecessor to the E-11. The movie E-10 had a taser and a longer barrel but I ditched those for a more compact version.

I had a private rule for this project not to draw on any canon post-1997 (the use of Aurebesh/Huttese fonts is already questionable) but the E-10 looked so classically junky and Star Wars I had to do it

Would 16-bit MATs count since the only reason why they weren't available in 1997 was because no one had messed around with the engine enough to discover that they were possible? After all, 16-bit MATs don't require any patches to the original JK.exe.

(And yes, I did once consider making a Demastered version of TODOA that wouldn't have required an unofficially patched version of JK. Then I realized that all "Demastered" projects have to be made by someone other than the original author)

(Also JK editing is a pain in the hole)

Like that E-10 is the most awkward, poorly designed POS. How would the user turn on the flashlight or use a sling or aim down the (two? three?) sights or flip the switch on whatever that thing is on the back side or, as sab mentioned, use the folding/collapsible stocks
