Happy 20th Anniversary to the NeS!

Just a small note that The Never-ending Story Thread reached its 20th anniversary today. While the first post in the linked thread was in October, the content in that thread was copied from another thread, and its first post was on August 14th.

While things are slower in its age at this time than in its heyday, its current successor, NeS3D, continues on a new forum called The Plothole. Anyone interested can find it here:

Can't of course help but notice how these forums died for 1.5 days after congratulating a Massassian for their creative achievements

Congrats Geb and the rest of the NeS gang! At some point in time the NeS was kind of mocked around here by some. I was one of the people who mocked it sometimes, albeit without malicious intent. Secretly I wished I'd dare to participate in the NeS, but I was always afraid the threads wouldn't be very receptive since I wasn't very confident in my ability to write stories. I realize that the fear must've been unwarranted, as the NeS community has always seemed highly receptive of newcomers. Anyway, it's wonderful and impressive that it has endured for so long. For as long as there is no proof to the contrary, the story remains neverending indeed!
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.

Thanks for the well-wishes!

Well if you'd like, you and anyone else are more than welcome to join the new forum -- it could use love. :) And with things being treated as a soft reboot (because those are oh-so-very trendy), there's no better time to give it a shot than now!

Oh don't be silly, Geb. While I appreciate and admire the longevity of the NeS on this internet where things often seem so transitory, of course I wouldn't go so far as to join!

Just kidding though Geb, that was meant as a callback to the mentioned mocking of the NeS. I will certainly remain open to the idea of participating.

It couldn't have gotten as far as it did without Massassi and the wonderful people on it! Going another 10 years will be easier done when I can get more people involved. :) So if you, or anyone you know, would be interested in joining, it should be known that there's also free art that can be had as extra motivation:
