I too would like to echo a big thanks to Brian, cool matty, helpers, and the community in general for making massassi such a great resource, and community.

I too like many lurked, and did not really post in the forums. Always sad to see an end of an era, but I understand why.

While many sites have died, or been abandoned. Massassi has continued on. For that I am forever greatful many levels, mods and resources have survived. Awesome work guys, and lets see massassi make it to another 25 years in some type of form :-).

Wow, looks like I checked in just in time to post something.

Massassi was my internet homepage for years and years. I recall reading absolutely everything on the website - tutorials, articles, level reviews, etc. Until finally I clicked on the forums and discovered the whole community (I didn't even know what forums were). For several years I probably logged in every day to read and post.

I guess it makes sense to shut down, there's really nothing going on anymore. I always enjoyed checking out the showcase forum, and also posting in the Neverending Story and The Spooky Taco thread. The Massassi forums were a big part of my life growing up even though I never did get the hang of editing JK, and it's nice to see so many old timers coming out one more time. Hope you guys all have a good life. I might see you in the discord, but I don't really log in that much.

Hey, just a thought - would anybody be interested in setting up a new forum where we could all chat and keep the connections we've made? It doesn't have to be a big thing, could be just something small. I don't have any social media and discord doesn't really work for me, I like the old-school forum approach where you can drop in and read threads when you feel like it.

I would have done that but there doesn't seem to be a way to close it for posting but keep it up and readonly. I guess I might be able to just mass-disable posting privileges for every account. Will look into it later.

It seems like since I posted this thread the forums are actually being used. My current plan (as of just now) is to keep the forums open as long as they are actually being used regularly. This means that I am now going to explore a vbulletin and server upgrade to get rid of the security issues.
