You apparently don't care if WMD existed at all, let alone in the quantities the Bush administration claimed. Is it acceptable for a President to use false and misleading information to make a case for war?

You say you that believe that Iraq 'had' WMD. How recently? When do you think it got rid of them?

I haven't made anything personal, if that's what you're getting at. I simply said Ghorg should not judge people he doesn't know.

And yes, I don't care if they existed. The claims made are irrelevent for my reasons of supporting the war. And besides, there is currently no adequate proof that the information was false and misleading. And, if it was false and misleading, there is currently no proof that he knew that.

Also, I will not be pulled further into the debate. There's no sense in defending belief or even fact when people refuse to even consider it. Honestly, what is the point?

I completely and whole-heartedly agree. It's hard to sympathize with either side for fear of being associated with lunacy and stupidity.
A desperate disease requires a dangerous remedy.

A major source of objection to a free economy is precisely that it gives people what they want instead of what a particular group thinks they ought to want. Underlying most arguments against the free market is a lack of belief in freedom itself.

For me, I don't care if any country goes "bullying around" to keep peace. All I care is that they do it right (unlike the US has done), and that they go after everyone, not just a guy who has oil and when your father...

That's what makes it wrong. Anybody could be attacked by anyone else at anytime. Granted, there are some prime suspects with means and motivations but is it worth turning the defense department into an offense department. The US doesn't have a defense department anymore. They have finally outright declared that it is now an offense department.

Yeah. He was evil. But how does the US become 'the police of the world'. They're not. They haven't removed many an evil man from power. Why? Who knows. Probably money.
One thing people can't or won't see is the murder of children in these conflicts. Since WW1 when people started dropping bombs out of planes there has been a 100% chance that children will be killed. Knowing these facts (and they are facts), is it worth have the deaths of thousands of children on your conscience? For some, yes. They cover it by stating it's the right thing to do as they sit in a comfy chair living the good life with internet service, abundant fresh food etc. at thier doorsteps.
I don't get it. I never will.

Exactly. None of us are there (excapt Wookie006) and none of us have the 'balls' to go there and find out. We are all just armchair generals.
On the other hand, it's debates (or lack thereof) like these that may open minds and have people look at things form a different point of view. It's our jobs as citizens to questions the government and complain about what they are spending our tax dollars on (which is why I don't understand why people get upset in these threads/discussions irl).

Looking past the obviously crazy scenario, this is so true.
Bush could bomb North Korea and the rest of the 'axis of evil' (ROFLMAO!!!) with his offense department and make the world a 'safer place' and die hards would say he's doing the right thing (remember Black Aurora?).
I personally like some of Bush's policies, but over all I think he/his administration are idiots (MHO).

And if it were done with a democratic president, democrats around the country would be cheering their super president because it is so ingrained in so many people that if your party does something, it's ok.

Really, Evad, would you think it's "so true" if these people supported actions you agreed with?

No. It is so true. It's part of American (and probably many other coutries) identity that liberals are liberals and conservatives are conservatives. There's no changing it.

Yeah. Told a friend of mine that I was a moderate non-partisan, he remarked, "Way to sit on the fence."
