Someone brought in a Linkin Park CD to our government class and the teacher let them play it. You could tell that he didn't like them at all. He was making comments for a while, mostly that all the songs sounded the same. The people that actually like LP were getting pretty riled.

They hate linkin park because they hate whatever is popular, regardless of quality (and this is not an implication that linkin park is quality, but man, its not HATABLE bad), because they are typical teens.

Instead of answering to your Linkin Park-questions (I can say I haven't heard much of their songs... and they did sound too meh for me), I will change the 'Linkin Park' from your questions to 'Jean-Michel Jarre'.

1. On a scale of 0-10, 10 being best, how much does Jean-Michel Jarre rule?

9.5 for the best songs, 7.5/8 for the rest

2. What is your favorite Jean-Michel Jarre song/album?

Ethnicolor, since it sounds like the destruction of the Earth by a SSD, so it is totally ownage. As an album, Equinoxe is the best since it has one of the best pieces of electronic music ever. 3. Why do you think I care about what you think about Jean-Michel Jarre?

I care of Jarre because I have lived nearly all of my life with his music, and one year ago I really started to appreciate it. As for you... I think you all think that Jarre sucks, even though you haven't heard of them. I'm 100% sure with this.

Actually, no, the songwriting is bland, repetitive chords, usually using a Stroking picking pattern, and the whole thing is wrapped up by lousy drums and whiny lyrics, what's there to love?

I did a little maths, and so far (presuming all 'I hate them', '-15', etc answers to be 0), The Park are rating a phenominal 3.61 out of 10 on the Rule-o-meter. Look out, mediocrity, here comes Linkin Park [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif]
