So... it's okay to mock the French-Canadians, but it's not okay to mock the African-Americans?

What, exactly, are you on? Quebecuois = French-Canadian = a distinct culture and a sensitive minority in Canada. It's racism every bit as much as anti-semitism (And many Jewish people look white too, eh?)

You've never been here, so you just don't know what you're talking about.

Also, another fact that some people might not be aware of: The French-Canadians make some amazingly good beer. When they say Canadian beer is good, they aren't talking about Molson Canadian. The next time you're in Quebec do yourself a favor and try some of the smaller labels.

I usually love conan.. but that segment was just stupid. I know it's just comedy, but the jokes were of pretty bad taste.. not to mention they were rather ignorant, and thus, made no sense to anyone who knows anything about quebec.

The restaurant bit was okay though.

I ask you again, what makes a French-Canadian different from another white guy to such an extent that they qualify as another race? It's not racism in the least.

Ok, whatever, It doesn't really matter whether it is racism or culture bashing or whatever BS thing you wanna call it, but just because it isn't techinically racism doesn't mean its ok.

And another, while the conan thing doesn't offend me, those jokes seem absolutly horrible. If they were gonna do something so controversial they could at least make it funny.

i mean, when i was watching conan that night, i didnt think what i was going to hear was going to be offensive that way. you watch a show, it says 18+, you know what to expect some what. you cant watch porn and then say youre offended by the nudity. my point is, with porn you kn ow what youre getting for sure. with conan, hes a comedian, you'd think when hes in canada he wouldnt so desperately try to make jokes that would sell to an american crowd only so his show still makes as much money. point is, we didnt KNOW his joke was going to be that offensive, so how the hell do we not watch something that comes as a total surprise to us, somethin we didnt know was coming.

I think the term "racism" is far too overused. And I love being of Gaelic origin, lumped into a "race" that lived in southern Russia. Or having it confused with Anglo-Saxon.

Maybe that's the dictionary definition, but I've never thought of myself as a different race than a French Canadian. Maybe it's cause we all fill in the oval next to "caucasian".

I'm 50% French-Canadian, because my dad's side of the family is from there. My race is Caucasian. Learn to laugh once in a while.. hell, I make fun of my heritage all the time, and I don't care who else does either.

^That's a faulty analogy, because the US isn't jointly Cajun-American.

The thing people don't seem to get is that while Canadians and Americans have a lot in common, it's different up here. Some stuff just doesn't fly in Canada that would work in the US.

Perhaps. Anytime Triumph's on, he's going to insult someone. No big surprises there.

Usually, when people find something on TV they don't like, they change the channel. I fail to see why this is any different. After hearing one insult, it should've been more than apparent that he was going to continue on with more.

its as simple as what his racial joke was about. he's an insult joke but believe it or not most of the time the thing is borderline tasteful humour.there are degrees to how insulting your insults are so it doesnt matter what the hell his name is
