The funny things is, LOTR should have won 13. It should have been nominated for Cinematography, and for best Sound editing. It won Best Sound, so how could it not win best editing? But I'm quite happy with it sweeping all of the categories it was nominated in.

Ah, but you forget that the 11 nominations were only for RotK. FotR and TTT got nominations and wins as well, and that counts because they are all part of the same trilogy.

Two things I noticed when RotK one best movie:

1) Peter Jackson is a complete slob. Unbutton jacket, top shirt button undone, hair everywhere, and I wonder now if his shirt was even tucked in.

2) There was a distinct lack of Christopher Lee up there.

I didn't like ROTK that much. I am glad that Tim Robbins won an award though, I've always liked his work.

Yes the one movie to rule them all! I kind of wished one of the actors would get nominated at least....

also, I like LotR, but I think they are a bit overrated. Specifically the first two.
