My current experience of stalkers (which is quite comprehensive) is that it's all just a bit of a laugh until someone gets hurt. How about instead you just ring her and ask if she fancies meeting up with you for a coffee or something? If she asks how you got her number just say you thought she was really pretty and decided to make a note of her number when she said it just in case you could overcome your shyness (add various other conditions girls find cute, e.g. anaemia, diabetes, permanent but non-infectious cold) and give her a call. The important thing is flattery.

Still a bad idea. It makes you look like a p*ssy. (edit. its not censored automatically, so it is technically legal, but still....) (in other words, you didn't have the cajones to approach and get the number yourself, you instead got it by eavesdropping.)


Flattery is on the most part worthless unless the situation arises where it can be belivable. if you flatter her too much, it makes it look like you'll do anything to get into her pants. This is not what you want to convey.

Also, don't talk down about yourself. (I.e. say you are shy, or some other lame-a$$ excuse) Your only objective is to make yourself appear confident and in control of yourself. Ultimately, you won't have to fake this like you do at first-- you will make it a natural attribute if you keep doing it long enough.

Um...thanks...yah. I just want to play a harmless prank, something that'll creep her out a bit but not enough to run to the cops. Something that'll be FUNNY not land me in jail. That's why I came here first--to make sure I didn't end up with a restraining order or something. Yah. I'm still wondering where people got the idea I like this person when I got this number from my friend whom overheard the conversation. Anyways, I like the old friend routine--sounds harmless and funny to me .
