A certain thread here has provoked an invasion of someone else's website guestbook in a misguided show of comradeship. Several of the posts have gone and identified Massassi as the source of this invasion...so now we have such lovely comments as...

"give the guy who did your logo and your website the credit he deserves. if you won't, DoS attacks are very effective"

...associated with us.

Give it a rest fellas, you are doing Massassi a disservice as well as the person you are seeking to defend. He is the one who is going to suffer the consequences of your actions offline.

...there's not much we can do when the worst offending posts on the guestbook are anonymous....how are we supposed to punish them here or stop them aside from simply asking?

It was a matter of my rights....I needed advice on what to do. I never told anyone to trash there guestbook. I even said I wanted a good solution. I acted totally mature the entire time. Look over that entire thread, even the AIM convos.

I don't think you are to blame for anything other than maybe being a bit naive when you posted the link to the site after so much negativity had been stirred up towards the band.

I certainly don't think you intended that guestbook flaming as in the end the only one it would really hurt is you.

Anyway the point of this thread was not to point fingers, just to put an end to the flaming before it brings unwanted trouble back here.

I'm with Jaiph--it wasn't SAJN's fault at all. I know a lot of Massassians would probably post the same thing had it happened to them, because it's a touchy subject, and everyone comes here for advice. Yah, my 2 cents.

And I'm not saying they need to go tyrannical here. They just need to outlaw one or two select things and massassi would be much better.

Well I have to say that I side wholly with Jaiph - SAJN's only fault in this case was posting the link here - cue open invitation from some of Massassi's less mature individuals [http://forums.massassi.net/html/rolleyes.gif].

That said SAJN's already admitted before that he's trying to make a fresh start and I'm still inclined (maybe naively; maybe not, who knows - time will tell...) to believe that this is one of those times where a person with a track-record is attempting to shed their previous form and start a-fresh, but happens to make "an error of judgement". I for one believe(/hope) that SAJN is earnestly trying to make a fresh start, so let's at least give him a chance and the benefit of the doubt [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

A site I know about has a warning system enabled-- 10 warnings and you are banned.

I don't believe that he ever advocated spamming - he only posted a link to the site. I believe his post read something like "(URL).. Like I said, it's a simple site." Someone else mentionned that he had left something in the guestbook, and SAJN protested! So I don't see how he encouraged anyone's immature actions, because he actually discouraged them openly.

From what i have seen, its because in his previous life (Rod-Nog), he wasn't exactly on his best behavior all the time, and so people use that as an excuse when anything bad happens anywhere around him, or even, on occation, when nothing bad happens at all, to attack him. And please, don't act as if i'm insulting anyone by saying this. i've seen it happen, several times.
