You're a girl right Elana? So that means you know what a woman wants. So maybe you can give some more tips for BobTheMasher?

Looks like she gave all of us tips, not just him. Its pretty weird, having a huge attraction to one another that you know nothing about. Undying love... Why do you get over it if it is so fricking intense? One of the many questions I will ask God...

Bad pain is being tortured (or tourchered, depends on whether or not you decide to make up your own English) by the Spanish Inquisition. Bad pain is being brutalized by Taliban soldiers who break into your house at the dead of night. Bad pain is losing your spouse of 50 years. A high-school crush is merely an emotional mishap.

Heh, nice one Freelancer.

But before this gets out of hand with snide *****y jabs at each other, let's realign. We are now discussing:

A) I've got a bad crush. What should I do?

or

B) I've got a bad crush. I want to get rid of it. How do I do this?

Discuss, with specific reference to the text.

It's very simple. He needs to tell her how he feels. If he doesn't, he'll never know if she likes him. Which is quite possible. Either way, by telling her, you resolve the issue...whatever the outcome.

OR...

Yes, you will resolve the issue by telling her, but you would do it by killing all interest level.

If this is the outcome that he wants, then go for it. However, if he wants something to develop from it, then teling her that he likes her could be the worst thing that he could do. I've explained before that mystery is your best asset. (The less she knows about you, the more she will want to find out-- which puts her right where you want her. )

I agree that relationship problems are not as bad as Spanish Inquisition torture or Taliban-style raids and beatings. However, they can cause emotional distress which is not pleasant.

Has to be said that I would take the risk to tell her.

Me and my girl got together that way. We both fancied each other but didn't know it, after a year of being good friends and flirting, we just let slip one day and have been happy ever since.

We are getting promise rings tomorrow, something to bind us to each other. Follow your heart.

Cloud, I know, I'm just trying to show that just because you belong to a certain group doesn't mean you are a part of the stereotypes that go along with said group. Or, in this case, just because Elana's a girl, doesn't mean that she "knows what women want". Do you know what men want?

Hmmmmmmm, bad example. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

Cosmic, maybe they aren't really your friends then. Or maybe they are, and maybe they mean it in a good-natured way. Either way, don't let them stop you from being friends with...er...what's her name...maybe you haven't said it...I hope not, cause that way I can't have forgotten it. What men want, this reminds me of a funny sketch I saw on the Chapelle show where a women could hear the thoughts of men...
From my experience of hanging around with a bunch of guys, a majority of them seem to only want a girl for....sex. Maybe that will change in college and the real world though.
Anyway, I guess I owe Elana apology for stereotyping her.

nah, it's ok

what women want, what women want.

that is an intresting question. In my english class we were reading "The Cantubary Tales". One particular tale asked this verry question, "What do women want?", and the answer, though suprising, i cant find a way or anyone who doesent believe it's not true. The answer is Women want to be in controll of the men in there lives.

Think about it, we achive this in many ways... Some girls relay on phycical attractiveness, some rely on manipulation, others rely on money. But there goal is the same. If you dont believe me, how many girl's do you know who havent gotten a boyffriend with the intent to "change them"?

I believe you. I mean, I wasn't going to say it first, because I'd be rampantly sexist, but it does make sense. Of course, some men are ruthless in their control of women they date, so we're no better...
