Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.

But you're forgetting fat is cheap to sell... so fried foods in schools won't be much of a stress. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

I agree. Euro chicks are definitely nicer. There was a spanish foriegn-exchange student I knew back in high school and she was great in terms of looks (I'd say 9.5), and was great at other things... I can't give the details b/c the mods would censor the hell out of it...

Here, chicks act masculine and get fat. It's nasty.

Old aunts used to come up to me at weddings, poking me in the ribs and cackling, telling me, "You're next." They stopped after I started doing the same thing to them at funerals.

Normally I'd be pro-rights on this, but obesity in america has become a critical problem. They also really need to put in more PE hours in there and actually teach kids about healthy eating and exercise rather than just making them play sports.

At my school, we had a required health class, and they taught us a bit in the required PE semester. Thing was, the people that could stand to learn something from it are the kind that either: A. Skip and go get high, or B. Walk into class, and go to sleep.

So either way.. you can require that everyone takes PE and health every semester for four years, but you won't accomplish anything except pissing off the people who don't need to know, and satisfying the sleeping needs of the people who do need it.

So are you saying we shouldn't bother trying? If my tax dollars weren't going to providing health care for easily preventable diseases then I might be inclined to agree with you.

PE classes at school wouldn't be such a problem if the health issue was being promoted more in the home. But it isn't. There are a disturbing number of children these days that are overweight before they even start school. If they are overweight at that age, then the the likeliehood of them being overweight for the rest of their lives is greatly increased, along with their chances of heart disease and diabetes etc.

Since the exercise message doesn't get pushed at home, it needs to pushed at the school. We shouldn't stop educating people or trying to get them to do more exercise just because a few people couldn't care less.

No, I'm not saying it's a waste at all (though it's what I sounded like, sorry). I'm just saying that we need to find new ways of pushing it, because the old ways aren't getting through. (in my experiance, anyway) You can throw all the money you want at a problem, but if kids don't want to learn, it'll all be wasted.

The root of the problem is at home. Waiting until school to try to solve such a problem is too late.

I...don't get how they're taking away choices, go out and get the fatty food somewhere else. They are providing a service; they have every right to change what products their service provides.

Um...roach...no. They're banning greasy and fatty foods PERIOD. And it's not a service, it's your only CHOICE to eat lunch at school, there. Yah.

Woopty-doo! Eat it outside of school! I don't hear anyone complaining about them not allowing the 18 year olds smoking, because they can smoke on their own time. You can eat that junkfood as soon as you leave school, deal with it.

Breakfast can take as little as 30 seconds. Hell, eat it on your way to school even.
