I saw the movie BECAUSE the trailer looked cheezy, but it turned out to be a pretty good movie (not great, but certainly the best thing in the box offices now and probably for a while to come). Kinda reminded me of TailSpin, the old Disney cartoon, but with more robots and stuff.
The also did a pretty good job with the 30's look and feel, though towards the end the filming style did stray a bit. Also, the camera the female lead was carrying is supposed to be an Argus C3 type (possibly one of the sub types, I one a standard C3 but am no expert), and it does NOT have that big tacky counter on top, in fact they actually showed a shot with the real film counter right next to their phony one.
Anyway, good movie, go see it.
