PS2 for me, because that's the only system I have, and my comp won't run it :(

PC if I get it... and that's a big if. I'd like to read some reviews first and play a demo. Even then, I may not get it, because, as most of Massassi should know by now, I'm no fan of multiplayer games. But hey... it's Star Wars, and it might be fun. I'm willing to give it a chance.

I'll get it in any case, but the question is "when?" 50 dollars, 40 dollars, or renting for the PS2?

Well if it is coming out for Gamecube... which I thought it wasn't but still. I picked that cause I like the controls of the Gamecube... but if it isn't coming out for that platform I'm going with PC. PS2 has way to much load time... and I don't have an XBox.

PC because that's the only way for me to play it online. I don't think it's coming out for Gamecue. If it is, I don't reccomend getting it because single player is boring.

there shouldn't be a gamecube option... LEC won't develop for the cube since most people who have a cube can't buy it because they don't have the broadband adapter that is hard to find while the PS2 network adapter and xbox live kits are easier to find

and if you have a PC and no internet access you are either in a really crap location or you are scared of something that won't happen

I'll be getting it for the pc, b/c i don't own any consoles.

And even then, i'll wait until it hits the bargain rack. I can't keep getting $50 on a college student budget.

I won't be getting it either, instead I will be getting Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War. God that game is so fun!

Same here. I saw the first commercial for it today, and already want it. I think I should be hurt, cause, I never heard of the game before. I vaguely remember something called Battlefront but I assumed it was something like those WW2 games.
I can't think of anything to put here right now.

It bugs me that most companies will release a game for everything except the Gamecube (in spite of this, my research has consistently yielded that the GC is the most powerful console, beating the XBox by about 10%)... Of course, I don't even want an XBox to begin with (though it seems attractive as a $200 game server for just about anything), and I don't own a PS2 (and it's rather old). So, I'd likely get it for the PC, if at all. (BTW, I voted GC just for kicks)

Probably the PS2, my computer can't run it...at all. Doesn't even reach minimum specs. :p

Or is there no Single Player to this game? If it's only MP, then I'll have to wait for PC. I don't have a modem on my PS2. I wish Cox Cable would offer a PS2 package instead of just those annoying Xbox live commercials.

I would personally like it for the PS2 because I don't want to fill up my PC harddrives with games. But the only thing that discourages me is again the load time. I don't know what it is about PS2 games but its rather boring in most of them when you have to wait massive load times before you play and when you are saving.

Example: ESPN NHL 2k5.

Yeah. I've seen mods that make JK look almost as good as that. Mabye not in some of the efects, but the modles have very few pollies, and the textures stink. The effects aren't that great either. It might have been ok in 2002, but now it's a joke.

Hmm, isn't battlefront an ego-shooter? (or tactic shooter).

Will it be possible to play with a ps2 version against someone with the pc version?

Are there mouses and keyboars available for some of those non-pc systems?

Puh, I once played some ego-shooter on a gamepad, and I hated it. But that's probably an old discussion I am usually avoiding. Still, I would never play a shooter with something less exact than the Logitech MX-500 :)

[to obi] you sir are ignorant... the effects are much better than what we had in 2002... the textures are a mixed bag of good and bad

Battlefront looks awesome--for a Battlefield engine game. Unfortunately, there's only so much you can do with that engine (it was made for quantity, not quality).

But the models are of decent polygon count, either that or they're just really, really good modellers. One of the two.

I don't see anything impressive about the models. The texturing is pretty horrible, stretched out and pizilated from the shots that I've seen. It looks like a Half-Life mod maybe a little better. I mean it seems that trees and bushes and such are a big part of the game, they could of spent a bit more time making it look....not like....crap?

This is the kind of Star Wars game I always wanted, but I can't get it. I don't have a console system, and my computer specs aren't adequate. Just great, just my luck . . .

Oh, yeah, Obi is a moron. Remember that, since this is a predominantly multiplayer game for larger battles (LEC, usually conservative, actually said 32 people max on ded. servers), the engine rendering should be dimmed slightly in respect to power. I wouldn't want my processor to be eaten in the process (i.e. Doom 3).

again sajn does the same thing he did with doom3... basing his initial opinions off old screenshots..
