This can't be happening to me
2004-09-27, 3:02 PM #1
I recently bought Battlefront and CoDUO in addition to the Medieval Total War and City of Heroes a few weeks before that. All these games are awesome and are really fun. And I have fun playing them. But at the same time I am soooooo bored. Even when I'm completely owning in a Team Deathmatch I can't stand it. I don't think I'm a gamer anymore. Has anyone else run into this?

3 more years until I can go clubbing. God I want to go to a club and dance right now, but the damnable age of 21 drinking law prevents me from going to any quality clubs.

Go to a club to dance. Go to a bar to drink.

At a dance club you can do both. Hence the problem of letting underage people in.

The guy is only 18, Chaz. Means legally he can't. And Kieran, I have ran into this problem before. Though, the clubbing problem is kind of negatible if there is an underage club around. A nearby town has one for me when i was young and had no sense.
obviously you've never been able to harness the power of cleavage...

A dance club/bar? I'd rather die.

"Where the legal drinking age is just a suggestion!"

Seriously, being major at 18 years is awesome. Makes you feel old once you get to 20 though. :(

I am having the same problem. I have bought quite a few games this summer, and I have not touched any of them for the past 3 weeks. Well... I tried to finish up CoD last night, but I got bored out of my mind within 10 minutes. :(

Pros of being 18: I can vote once every 2 years.

Cons of being 18: I can be drafted, I can be tried as an adult in court, I can be kicked out of my parent's house, I can pay child support if that situation ever arises, I can't go to a strip club or dance club because they serve alcohol.

All the responsibility, none of the privileges. Oh, but there is good news on the horizon. At 19, I can buy cigarettes! Whoppee! -_-

In Ontario the drinking age is 19.

I guess that isn't really helpful...sorry...

In the US, only topless clubs serve alcohol. Full nude are 18+ with no alcohol.

So the less revealing and "vice" one serves alcohol but the other one doesn't? How does that make sense?

I hate being 16. I would so be getting laid in the back part of a club right now instead of watching Star Wars DVDs... yeah. It's too bad Big Brother is holding me back.

Get a hobby, since drinking isn't worth it, and clubbing is laughably silly.

You standing people don't realize how funny you look from a crippled position, dancing in dark rooms... We watch that instead of america's funniest home videos.

This is why god invented fake IDs, older brothers, public parks, and friends places when their parents are away.

Alternatively, move to Australia :p

I can attest to the older brother deal because, being the middle brother, I have both bought the beer and had the beer bought from me.

Dont worry. You'll understand better when you're older. See, eventually young boys reach an age where they start to notice these things called girls...

You're not missing much with clubs, Kieran. Sure, dancing is fun, but if you want to go to primarily pick up chicks, you are wasting your time. but the chicks that frequent those places are usually icy cold and are only there so suckers, chumps, and other clueless guys will buy them drinks. If you want to club when you are old enough to get in, go with the intent of having fun, not with the intention of sarging the place for phone numbers. Sure, you may get one or two in clubs if oyu know what you are doing, but don't expect to fill your black book up in one night.

House parties sometimes have decent dance music going, plus they also have booze, and the chicks there are more open. You get all the strengths, and none of the weaknesses that you get at bars and clubs.

Lots of people think that bars and clubs are such kicka** pickup places, but they really aren't. You can usually do better even in class at uni, in restaurants, or even talking to people on the street.

Once, I met a chick at a crosswalk at uni and I got a nice number talking to her while waiting for the light to change. My point is, chicks put up a front in clubs that they don't have in real life, so it's better to avoid such an obstacle entirely.

Yes... Chicks wearing halter tops, mini skirts, bathed in perfume, lathered in make-up, and shaking everything around the dance floor are there solely to dance...

...and show off, and flirt with other guys, and just be a f***ing tease in general.

it's all show and no real action.

I never really liked night clubs. Too many shallow sleazy people. That and the only dance I like doing is slow intimate ones....which.....yeah, not a typical club thing.

Well since you have so long until you can go out clubbing and dancing, get yourself a hobby or three so you aren't so bored with gaming.

I was kinda bored with gaming during the spring but football started up and ate up a lot of time and now gaming is a lot more fun for me.

So go find yourself something to eat up time.

I HATE CLUBS
Ive been to 2 and both have reminded me of Car Commercials. Blaring Techno music and flashing lights.
But then again, I was having really crappy nights both of those times.

Sorry for nitpicking, but this really bugs me. For the ten thousand'th time...

IT IS NOT TECHNO. 99% OF PEOPLE HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TECHNO IS.
The music industry is a cruel and shallow money trench where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side.

Sure! Just remember rubbish night is Tuesdays so you'll have to put the bins out then, and I have complete shower access rights between the hours of 12pm and 1.30pm daily.

Am I the only one that is disturbed by this thread? There's no bigger turn off than reading a thread with a few dozen posts by sexually repressed teenagers. Sadly, young folks (including myself when I was younger) enjoy learning things the hard way, and it sounds like many of you are off to a good start. Good luck with that.
