Off topic: Snake-eyes, where did you live in BC? I live in BC.

At the time, it was in Sparwood. Home of the World's Biggest Truck. Ever. The famous Guiness Book even says so :D!!!

But, I also used to live in Tumbler Ridge, and Penticton. I miss the mountains.....:(
I am a nobody, and nobody is perfect; therefore, I am perfect.

Everyday I beat my own previous record for number of consecutive days I've stayed alive.

My Canada includes Beavers.

it's like being out on the ocean, where everything is shaking and rolling...shaking and rolling...heaving and tossing.....

I didn't even feel the 6.0 earthquake.

Being in an earthquake isn't alll that spectacular...until stuff starts to fall on your head, then you run. All you do is shake and shake and shake.
Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.

I thought it was just one idiot jiggling his desk, until I realized that all of the desks were doing it. The class quickly erupted into a barrage of "what the hell!?", "earthquake!" and "cool!". I looked outside and noticed the branches of a huge nearby tree swaying, and the power lines were bouncing up and down (like what happens when you whip and extension cord lying on the ground). It immediately became obvious that the countless years of earthquake drills had been useless, as nearly every student jumped out of their seat and started running around, and those that didn't just sat in their desks and rode them around like off-balanced washing machines.

haha colin! omg that's great! yeah I was always curious as to what an earthquake would be like but that's the funniest description i've ever heard! hehe

Especially this part

There's a good deal of rumpling noise to go along with all the shaking too.

I sat through Loma Prieta in 1989, the one that delayed the World Series and took down a section of the Bay Bridge

note: it took 2 hours to hike to the lake with clouds, 2 hours back in pouring rain.

I go up for hikes on the mountain every few months. It'd be a shame if they had to close it down for a while cuz of all the ash.

I wonder if an eruption would affect ski-runs? probably not...
</sarcasm>
<Anovis> mmmm I wanna lick your wet, Mentis.

Does having all the snow melted by lava flows and superheated ash pose a problem? :p

Woah, woah, whoah, I just looked on the news and they say there's a 3 out of 4 chance of an eruption within three or so weeks. Damn, I take back that comment about it not being serious.

Assuming the winds are coming from the north, Portland could be dusted in ash. And I have asthma.:(

I think mother nature has joined Al-Queda.

If the mountain does go off again, It'd be cool to have pictures of it before it's even more disfigured.
