... No, agnostics are people who are between theism and atheism. They won't go either way, and are basically asking for evidence.

I was agnostic for a long time before I decided that I was atheist.

Read that firefox, theism is the general term for believing in a god.

I don't get how saying agnostics are "those who belive there is some higher power but belive it is a power beond our understanding" is the same as them being unsure as to whether they believe in a higher power or not...

HAHAHAHA BECAUSE IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND THE DEFINITION FOR A WORD RIGHT AFTER SOMEONE POSTS A LINK TO AN INTERNET DICTIONARY HAHAHAHA.

Sorry about this, but I somehow can't imagine alpha1 here quite grasping the minimalistic subtlety of Jaiph's post, similarly to how he can't grasp the concept of agnosticism as meaning anything but Christian.

I don't think agnosticism is really on the same scale as theism and atheism. Either you believe in at least one god, or you don't.

Whether you believe it is possible to know if a god exists or not is an entirely seperate issue (just like this post is entirely seperate to the thread's actual point [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif])

so I guess your country is ready to give up the second amendment as well?

A deist, like many of the Constitution's framers, believes in a god, or gods (most of the framers were freemasons which required belief in any single God), though the term generally refers to those who believe in a more passive/apathetic god who created existence and then left it to itself.

Theism also means the belief in a god or gods, though usually a more loving, or at least interested, one.

He's no longer the NRA president. Now it's some guy named Wayne LaPierre.

That aside, my question to alpha1 remains.
