I'm going to actually respect Bungie, and wait until Nov. 9th before I offically decide. From everything I've seen, read, and hear, I have no reason to believe it'll suck.

Oh yes Microsoft deserved to have they're stuff stolen because they decided they wanted to go with another market than the PC. Be silent before you hurt yourself and your family.

Depending upon how you look at it, the game isn't even really Microsoft's. Bungie developed the entire thing. MS Game Studios is just releasing it.

I wasn't going to go out and get a modded X-Box to play it, but be reasonable, Ian. We're both humans--when given the opportunity to play arguably the BEST game on the X-Box's sequel before it came out, would you?

I hate you, and this is the first post I've seen you make. While I'm not standard of the average Massassi user, you can count yourself as being on the wrong foot with at least one person. People like you are a threat to the stability of my future job, and people like you rob me of a little bit of the financial return I'll make on my four years of work.

Honestly? No. Before you go off in a rant, I'll explain.

I have a very deep respect for Bungie. I've been a fan of that company since Marathon came out. That was roughly around 1995. I'd played the game before it, Pathways into Darkness, but Marathon was what really drew my interest to the FPS genre, and thusly, to them. It was a hellova game, made by people who were just flat out awesome and pretty open about everything they did. Without fail, since then, every game I've played that Bungie has developed has always been outstanding in one respect or another.

Now, that being said. If given the opportunity to play it by Bungie before release, I'd grab it. Definately. But if one of their games was pirated before release and someone offered to let me play it, I'd tell them to rot in hell. Literally. That's how much I respect them. I'm dying to know everything about that game as much as the next fan, but I'm not going to resort to something like piracy to find out.

Just like some of you guys have a deep respect of some other game developer, I have one for Bungie.

And that, is why I'll wait until November 9th, pay my 64 bucks for the Limited Edition version, and then spend the next few months devouring the game with friends.

Like I said, I did not personally pirate it, because there are some game companies I refuse to do that to (id, bungie, croteam among them). I just saw that the damage had been done, and decided--I'm going to play it in 20 days anyways, why not now? I guess that's just my mentality though. I do respect how you feel. You'd probably at least watch it for a minute or two though ;)

Has there been any definite news one way or the other with regards to a PC release?

The whole Ilovebees thing has just got me more and more interested; but I don't have an X-Box. And there aren't really a whole lot of games on it that would convince me to get one.

I got PC Halo, which was OK, so I'd like to see the sequel... even if it does take a year.

Maybe I could just hire an X-Box and the game?

I'm annoyed that sometimes I am forced to resort to piracy to play games that are no longer sold. I bought Gabriel Knight 3 and really liked it, so I thought I'd try out the earlier ones. Oops, no, they don't sell games more than two years old.

Imagine if they did that with books or CDs... "What? Led Zepplin. Sorry, we don't sell that sort of thing any more."

"War and Peace? Whaaaaa? Why don't you just go buy the latest Grisham thriller, instead?"

These new small boxes should have gone to fixing that, but all I've seen is that now shops dedicate less space to PCs and more to consoles.

Pirating new games is just way wrong, though. I did it with Starcraft and Diablo II (for which I am very ashamed), but never really played them. Then I bought them legally, and played 'em heaps. You just have more incentive to play and like something when you had to pay for it, I guess.

There is never a reason for this. I'm sure if you looked around there are online stores that still sell classic games.

I can't wait for Pirates of the Burning Sea to come out. I'm gonna be part of a Spanish fleet and sink many many pirates! Oh wait....I'm against both kinds of pirates. I can't wait to finish HW today, then I'm going to pick up GPL and NRS2003 for like $6, bargain bin games rock.

I have no capacity to buy from online stores, unfortunately.

It's not like it's something I do often, anyway. Just every now and then I'd really like to play an old game.

I have at least 50 bought computer games (from King's Quest 1 on up), so I think I'm doing my bit to keep the companies afloat...

As though the development of Halo for PC was EVER MS's choice.

Read up on the facts.

When Halo was first being developed, it started out on PC. Something Bungie initally didn't like. They prefered developing games souly for the Mac platform. Afterall, it was where their games were more widely bought. However, by the time E3 '99 (I think it was '99) rolled around, the Mac platform had caught up enough to warrant the switching from PC to Mac. Thus, what was shown at that E3, was on a Mac.

Shortly thereafter, Bungie was bought out by Microsoft. Microsoft needed a game to launch with the Xbox. They saw that game in Halo. Bungie has since decided to continue development on the Xbox only. At least until something else presents itself, or MS asks them. Now, Bungie has also expressed a like and dislike of developing souly for the Xbox. The upside, is work progesses faster. You have a set hardware description. What you develop, is EXACTLY what the user will see when they take the game home and pop it in. You don't have to design for gobs of different hardware configs. The downside, is that they lost part of their fan base. Bungie has also, from what I've been told, mostly just been left alone by MS. The choice of what to develop and design is theirs. MS doesn't ride their back and demand things.

Making Halo OR Halo 2 for PC was NEVER Microsoft's decision. If Bungie had wanted to, they could've continued development on the Mac/PC platforms while also working on the Xbox version. They chose Xbox.

Now please, shut-up and stop being such a PC fanboy. I seem to recall a thread awhile back where you said you hated fanboys. You are the thing you hate.

If this is against the rules I'll be glad to take it off. I didn't download or play the game.

*Possible spoilers?*
A guy in my dorm acquired Halo 2. The graphics looked good. The only part I saw had him and another guy from the dorm playing through a level with some aliens(from Halo 1) who were on their team. They were fighting some flying things with sheilds and some weird lookin zombie things (which exploded into spider lookin things) with guns that sent out a solid stream of energy. And yes, it was in french.

I haven't, and I've heard plenty of slang terms for marijuahana.
I presumed Nubs was meant to be a harder drug of some kind.
Up untill this discussion, I too thought it was meant to be like newbs

No marijuana. And if it were a drug-related term, it would definitely be listed.

Halo 2 looks alright, i might give it a go once it lands on pc... although the first wasn't amazing and the sound errors were intense.

It annoys me. I have a crappy connection and have to fork out 40 quid for games, yet others can just leave their pcs on over night and get them.
