There's a little more info on the San Andreas website. Click Soundtrack

The track list gives a sample of the kind of music they are going to have in San Andreas. It looks like they are going to have some good stuff. I really want a look at the full soundtrack.

Never thought I'd say it, but I think I'm gonna miss Billy Jean, thanks to that line-up.

Wow, the soundtrack MADE GTA:VC, and this doesn't look good.
2004-10-23, 10:16 AM #5
Yea, this soundtrack looks horrible...

I hope you can import MP3's again..

A. The soundtrack can't always be the same old dull metal/rock music.

B. The soundtrack must relate in at least some way to the genre/setting that the game is in. The game is set in a gangland style, meaning, obviously that the music would be a little different from what you'd hear in the settings like Vice city.

I'm excited about the soundtrack. Particularily "Don't give a ****" my Tupac. Yay GTA.

The rock songs are what made GTA:VC...

Yeah, but this game's setting is more about hip hop so you'll obviously see more rap.

What made VC are the talk-show channels.

What made VC and the whole GTA series is everything as a whole. Not simply the musical element.

Truesay. When I was bored or doing homework I'd put on KCHAT and drive to somewhere quiet and just listen to it while I did whatever.

What are you guys complaining about, there's a modern rock station and a classic rock station along with reggae, funk, and soul stations. This looks awesome.
2004-10-23, 12:57 PM #14
I think they need to start over. Make a new engine or something. This whole thing got pretty stale about half way through Vice City for me.

2004-10-23, 12:58 PM #15
They just want to complain because theres not that much heavy metal/rock music on it. Instead, it's a lot of rap.
2004-10-23, 12:58 PM #16
They've modified the VC engine a LOT. The amount of new things you can do I think will keep a lot of people interested for longer.

Damn you all. I have to install VC. But I don't have the space. Damn you all.

I'm just saying I think it's pretty graphically stale... And there doesn't seem to be much more they can do with that engine.

Look at Mafia for instance. There's a game where whole a whole city was rendered in realistic style... and there was SO many more possibilities... It wasn't free roaming or anything... But the drive by shooting was much more realistic... And you could shoot at the cars while chasing them... shoot out their tires... man it was amazing.

I think the graphics are fine--they please my eyes enough so that I can overlook any minor errors, and besides that, GTA was never about the graphics (except maybe GTA 3). ;)

Basically, this is my complaint :D

Oh well, tough ****. :p

Rap music isn't bad, just the newer crap like 50 Cent and Eminem. Older rap had substance, and meaning behind the lyrics, which is what I believe a lot of the musical choices have here.
2004-10-23, 1:33 PM #21
Yes, but a lot of the meaning was **** the police, or whitey's keeping us down (Which was probably true, but I don't care to hear about it)
2004-10-23, 1:46 PM #22
if you are tired of vice city's graphics you can always install new cars

still my favorite of the cars i downloaded

THey have Guns n Roses, nuff said.

OH, and in case you all didn't know, Samuel L. Jackson does a voice in the game. So that makes it automatically 100x cooler (He's the voice of Officer Tenpenny)

Educate yourself on two things. These people's backgrounds/history, and other things aside from the stereotypical lyrics. There's a lot more behind the lyrics, and spoken in many songs, than just "**** the police", etc, and there's a reason for it all as well.

Yay, it's out on Tuesday.

/me anticipates.

By the way, everyone read the first review on Amazon.com

Quote:
Grand Auto Theft is a horrible game because its killographic and its target audience is young kids aged 14 and younger and I think that is just wrong! It features nudity, killing, violence, use of drugs, and other horrible things that will make your kids do bad things! Dont expose them to this kind of material! I am a proud member of MOTHERS AGAINST VIDEOGAME VIOLENCE and this is the main title I want off store shelves.

It's not even ON store shelves and already she wants it off. Sheesh. I did like this other one though:

Quote:
I'm 14 okay. I believe I already know all there is that this game has to offer. I've had experience in every facet of this game's learning techniques. That's why I only rate it as an acceptable educational game for the youngest of children. By my age, we've all successfully jacked a few cars. Who among us hasn't capped a few suckas in a drive-by? I agree that all the kids growing up in the hood need to learn these sorts of things to have a decent chance at survival, but please give me something I don't already do once a week if you expect me to put down 50 dollars on a game. That's money I need for my dealer of course. Parents please don't buy this for your kids unless they are age 8 or below, and if they still feel it is too immature for them, do like real parents should and show them how it's done yourself.

And then there was the all-caps one. But I'm not touching that.
2004-10-23, 10:39 PM #26
some message she is sending about mothers against videogame violence...

SHE CAN'T EVEN GET THE TITLE RIGHT!

and she used "killographic" and for that she must be erased from the human race

If I didn't love that word I would hate it so much.

I only want to know one thing: Is Lazlow in the game?

faith no more - midlife crisis

hell yes
2004-10-24, 10:37 AM #32
It needs a New Wave station like VC had.

I don't mind hip-hop too much, but I prefer underground hip-hop.

The 90's sucked. It was one of the worst decades of the 20th century.
It's not the side effects of cocaine, so then I'm thinking that it must be love
2004-10-24, 10:43 AM #33
There wasn't as big an underground community in the early ninties. Rap and hi hop were really hitting the mainstream back then.

They better have an oldies station with some kinda rock on it, and lazlow better be there... I can't stand r'n'b, rap or hip-hop; myself
nope.
2004-10-24, 12:38 PM #37
well they got faith no more so i'm sure they'll be wise enough to cover everything else kickass
2004-10-24, 2:06 PM #38
They'll definitely have stuff besides rap. The last song on the soundtrack is by a country singer.

Here's some more information from the official website in case someone missed it:
Quote:
each album of the 8 CD box set will replicate a music station from the game featuring a broader selection of tracks ranging from contemporary west coast and classic east coast hip-hop, funk, rare groove, new jack swing and contemporary soul, alternative rock, classic rock, reggae and country.
It's not the side effects of cocaine, so then I'm thinking that it must be love
