Gonna see if i can rent it sometime and play it... I reserve judgement until I do play it.

it looks interesting and fun... out of the GTA games so far i do think GTA3 was the best... VC was just... it didn't feel right, it was fun but felt non GTAish to me. GTASA looks like it's getting right down and dirty into the gangs and stuff, looks fun.

A hell of a lot more than the crappy hip-hop in GTA3.

Besides, I grew up to 80's music :p

It was perfect fit for what the radio stations would have been playing in 1986 ;)

How can you dislike the music in VC? Well that is, unless you're a 4th grader who listens to emo and non-talent punk bands, I might understand....

exactly!

VC music rocks. I've always had a thing for good '80s music. (whitesnake, deff leppard, etc.)

The music in Gta3 was just meh. I have a feeling that the game was trying to be too generic.

SAJN, it's funny how you're not even old enough to buy the GTA games.
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.

I'm not old enough, and I love them.

My friend wants to buy a game soon, today I'm going to tell him to get this instead of Rome: Total War or the Sims 2.
"Jayne, this is something the Captain has to do for himself"

"N-No it's not!"

"Oh."

.

30 hours of on-and-off play, only taking time to piss, eat and sleep. Christ, I'm thankful it was ****ty outside yesterday; otherwise I'd feel unaccomplished. This is probably the best game I've ever played (gaming experience, on the other hand, is a different story.) They really captured the whole feel of California. God, there's so much you can do. I played with my friend up until we hit San Fierro and did a couple missions there before we had to depart. Driving off the enormous mountain on a dirtbike is ****ing insane, everything blurs from the insane speed of falling... The most amusing thing I found was to break into the airport & steal a learjet and smash into stuffs and watch it 'splode. The game really seems to be straying from it's roots that you intially play in Los Santos, though. I hope that changes . Anyway, favorite character has to be the peace-loving hippy guy with the 'Mothership.' "Why are we at the police station?" "I dunno." * Van drives by. * "Cover your faces! They'll hand out a rubber duck!" Anyway, I love this game. I hope it comes to the PC really soon, otherwise I might just buy a used PS2 Mini.

Lastly, best cameo appearance:

GTA3 "Fido"

... ****, that was really long.

EDIT: I neglected to mention the game world is ****ing enormous. I cannot stress how large this is; and to my suprise rich of content. Not once in the game did I get bored, even when driving along countryside.
Moo.

In terms of the missions, is there any choice in the matter, can you complete the game different ways? I remember in GTA3 there were a few times when I had some choice as to who to do missions for, usually a choice of two, so I could skip out some of the missions and still complete it (I specifically remember skipping the mission where you have to steal lots of cars and bring them back unscathed within a timelimit). I don't think you could do that in Vice City, I think the storyline was entirely linear there. How is it in San Andreas?

I was born in the tail end of the 80s (1988) so had little experience of 80s music - and I loved the music in GTA: VC, hell, that's what opened me up to 80s music, don't diss it.

Well I was in the store buying Republic today - the two SA trailers were looping without stop (I feel sorry for the salespeople) and near enough EVERYONE was clutching a copy of the game.

When I got to the store, the counter was loaded with boxes. The employees were frantically opening the boxes and pulling out copy after copy of SA. :D

Whoa....I picked the game up yesterday. I haven't played it much, however. I wonder if there's a way to easily make money like in Vice City with the "Cone Crazy trick".
2004-10-29, 5:23 PM #65
Yes, it's called cheating.

Yes, it's called going to the races, betting on the horse with the longest odds, reloading if they lose, then doing it again and again and again.
