Desktop: 40 gigs, holding out for a 200 gb because 40 gb isn't very big when you edit lossless 720x480 video.

Laptop: 80 gb.

You know, if any of you want to donate ANY old hard drives you have, I am a worthy cause.

I should burn my video files to DVD, I'm just really ****ing lazy. Slicing up a lot of the files to remove ads, etc is also a pain in the *** since most are around 12 gig. Some of them have been there waiting since March :(

Next time my wife asks me to record a tv show marathon for her I'm just buying the frickin' dvd. :p

Why? CD's are only 128kps. It's kinda pointless to use a higher bitrate than that.

Lovely. But it's like comparing the differences between 24-bit and 32-bit colors with the naked eye -- no one can tell the difference.

That's correct. Ripping them to high quality MP3 is a good idea, considering that the CD's are originals and not burned copies (from possibly low-bitrate MP3s).

Currently:

80Gb Primary Master (7200rpm)
30Gb Secondary Master (?rpm)

Eventually will get a (hopefully start of next year)

80Gb Raptor (or bigger if released by then) (10,000rpm)
300Gb SATA HDD (just for storage etc)

Q. How many testers does it take to change a light bulb?
A. We just noticed the room was dark; we don't actually fix the problems.
