Well, according to FOX news, Bush only needs one vote to win. As long as one state goes to Bush, Bush wins. Let's all hope he gets it!

I hope to Christ we do not have this election carry out for the next three weeks with lawyers. I want to know who won the goddamed election TOMORROW. I went through this bull**** in 2000 I don't want to go through it this year.

President Bush has a 120+ THOUSAND vote lead with 97% of Ohio's precincts reporting (last checked). This is not Florida, there is no law mandating a recount if it is that close and it is NOT. If you were to look at the county map of Ohio, there are a lot of red counties.

I'm serious in saying this that I will have more respect for Kerry if he comes out and admits that he lost Ohio. I really do not think the nation wants to go through 2000 all over again. Be a man Kerry!

God here we go again. This time, I feel as if the Democrats don't have nearly as strong a case. This time, Bush is up in the popular and electoral vote, the laws in Ohio are very strict on regulations and recounting. I would have had a great deal of respect for Kerry conceding, but no. I mean, Richard Nixon conceded. Sigh......how I love politcs.

There's no reason for kerry to concede unless it's clear bush has won which isn't possible to determine without the absentee balots and whatnot.

I'm really surprised Ohio could go to Bush, the majority of Kerry support I've seen has been from there.

120+ thousand vote lead he has to overcome? That would mean that basically ALL of the absentee ballots are Kerry. I'm sure as hell that there will be a good number of those absentee ballots are military and they lean Bush.

IA can go either way, I won't deny that. I think it'll be a red state though.

NM is a more solid Bush state, IMO.

NV is closer than NM and still has 18% of precincts to report. That can go either way as well.

WI I'll chuck to Kerry based on historical voting. Although anything can happen.

I'm off to bed now.

254/252 in Bush's favor at the moment, but it doesn't matter.

There are three states that haven't been decided, but only one will throw the election, and that is Ohio.

And of course, Bush is winning by 140,000+ votes there with 100% reporting.

GO OHIO, GO BUSH!!!

269-242 on Fox
269-238 on MSNBC

So far, it seems that Bush is winning the popular vote. I'm curious, are you Democrats still in favor of changing to a popular vote, even if it turns out that Bush wins it?
2004-11-03, 4:35 AM #20
You do have a pretty evenly divided country, don't you?

I guess Kerry's charisma just wasn't high enough. To speak the truth, he never struck me as a real leader type of person.

According to the map on CNN.com, it seems to me that Kerry isn't as popular as he thought. He got the northern East coast and the west coast. But that's about it. I clicked on my state (indiana) and I noticed that we voted Republican almost everywhere except in the county closest to Chicago.

Because rural Illinois is a bunch of rednecks and hicks. What do you expect? Bush might get NM, bunch of hicks and rednecks out there too. Surprised he got Alaska though..

CNN says Bush 254, Kerry 252, with Bush poised to win Ohio. I'd have to say it's certain, he's up by too much.

Hopefully Bush'll take measures too bring a little unity back to the country.

Will you still be laughing when Bush wins 286-252? Will you still be laughing when he is the first President since 1988 to receive over 50% of the vote? Will you still be laughing when Bush wins by millions in the popular vote?

I will!

Strange, they still haven't called it. I'm guessing just one of their reporters/guests stating the obvious.

He's a strong leader but I don't think he's one who changes his ways that much. And why should he change anything? He got reelected and that means people support his policies. Republicans got even more tight control of the Senate. I doubt he will see any reason to change anything. Not at all.

I watched every channel until 3 AM.

FOX didn't call Bush as the winner at 11 (I can say that because I didn't get home until then) - they projected Florida at around 12. There was one guy on the Panel they had that said a Bush win in Ohio sealed it up for him, and was projecting a Bush win there - the rest of the panel said it was far too close. At about 1, they projected Ohio early, based on 83% of the precincts.

Talk about a sweeping victory. Bush takes both the electoral college and breaks the all-time popular vote total on his reelection bid. Democrats are defeated all across the country. This, by the way - makes Bush the first incumbent in some time to retain his seat as well as have his party retain and GAIN seats in the Congress in some time.
