Intriguing... I would like to know Kerry's reasoning behind giving up though.
Ya know? Common sense? Not really that common...

people who vote absentee tend to be republican. There are exceptions, of course, but I heard that that was the norm.

Northren liberals like kerry never win. For a democrat to win today, they have to be more of a moderate southren democrat like clinton was.

*sigh* Four more years of stupid, backwards, Republican ideals. Four more years of slack-jawed speech and ignorant wars. Four more years of pain and agony. Hooray, Bush was re-elected. /me grabs pistol, cigarette, and blindfold.

Four more years, and he can do whatever he wants without fear of screwing up re-election chances. :(

The outcome was expected though, I assumed he would win.

I really thought kerry had it there, since bush had screwed up the war and killed more than osama. He's killing our british troops too, seriously... you should see us over here - no offense but most british absoloutely hate Tony Blair for joining that loony in a war that did our country no favours.

not only that, but the republicans own congress, too. Daschle got kicked out, and republicans have been looking to take him down for a long time.

Bush will have no trouble getting his 3 supreme court justices appointed (4, if Renquhist (sp?) quits. Bush has the power to change the supreme court by making it more conservative for decades. )

Somebody needs to turn him Gay. It's the only way to save our country now. We must find the most attractive man in America, and contract him to seduce the president into a life of homosexuality. Then his conservative ways will be thrown by the wayside, and the most liberal president the world has ever known will be in power. He'll still be a stupid idiot, but it'd be more entertaining, and we'd probably pull out of the war.

I think the most important thing is that Bush went from behind in the popular vote to becoming the first majority president (with 51%) since the first Bush - and thusly, breaking the all time vote total, passing even what Reagan got. A nearly 4 million vote lead is hardly negligable.

Apparantly, things aren't quite as bad as they seemed.

Kerry's early jumping of the ship seems like a slap in the face to all Kerry-supporters who sent in absentee ballots.

There's no way the absentee ballots would make a difference at this point unfortunately. I cannot see how ANYONE in the armed forces could possibly vote Republican though. Oh and another note:

not only that, but the Provisional ballots in Ohio still have to be confirmed. I think it would be funny if Kerry conceded but then ended up the winner. Oh and that goddamn Nader took almost exactly the amount of votes Kerry would've needed to win Ohio.

I still stand by my opinion that Nader is a scapegoat for the Republicans to take away votes from Kerry. I bet Bush buys Nader a hooker for every vote he took away from Kerry. ;)

Evidently they see something in Republicans because the military have overwhelmingly supported Republicans, even in this election.

I'm happy. Major kudos to Kerry for ending it like he did.
A desperate disease requires a dangerous remedy.

A major source of objection to a free economy is precisely that it gives people what they want instead of what a particular group thinks they ought to want. Underlying most arguments against the free market is a lack of belief in freedom itself.

Bush won by too large a margin for the provisonal/absentee ballots to make a difference in the outcome.

Death Star? Pfffft, yeah, that thing is designed for blowing up planets. Only way that thing would work is if we blow up Earth, or capture all the terrorists and send them to Mars and blow that up.

And hey, if Bill gets back in the white house I'd consider voting for Hillary. Doesn't mean I would.
