Yeah, I've had slim girlfriends, as well as some more shapely, and I think it depends on the girl.

I'm generally more attracted to heavier girls, (although I'm not talking about fat girls either). I don't like being able to see their ribs or hip-bone stick all the way out. Funnily, my current girlfriend weighs only 105 lbs. Physical attraction isn't everything. :p

I usually go for curvy girls, although definetely not the ones who are so to an unhealthy degree. You have to care about yourself enough to stay healthy

Instinct/Nature says curves are good. Women need the hips to bear the children and need the breasts to feed the children. Modern society (read - the media) says super skinny is good. (You can thank Kate Moss, the original wraith). I've never once met a guy who's said 'wow, I love how her bones jut out of her like that', but the fact is, women are encouraged to believe that having excess flesh is a bad thing (I'm pretty sure my hatred of my stomach has no deeper basis than that) and the less attractive you feel, the less attractive you appear.

You know what's really ridiculous? My entire attraction to women is based on curves, I just don't think there's anything sexier. I'm pretty sure if I saw a girl with my exact body shape I'd think it was fine, and yet...it still looks horrid in the mirror!

I can relate but if there's so much attraction to curves, why do guys seem to pick girls who look like they're going to die in childbirth? (granted this is just what I've noticed in my area...maybe there's something in the water around here) Though I guess it could go with the whole media/feeling attractive making you look more attractive thing. It just didn't add up and I got confused. I also have another theory but I don't like how it sounds, I would have to think how to phrase it. thanks for clearing that up!

and yeah, Mr. Stafford: not only cavemen, but throughout much of the history of civilization, fatter women were prized though that had a lot to do with the fact that being fat meant they were wealthy enough to get fat. That and there really was no obesity, there was, up until recently, never enough food for people to have so much so as to be unhealthy. more food=good back then, there wasn't "too much food" but I digress.
