Actually Yoshi, it was US-CERT [US Computer Emergency Response Team] that originally said this. I couldn't find the article on the CERT site (someone may want to have a search through here) but I originally heard the news through a Register article.

My computer-illiterate mum uses Firefox, although she doesn't know it.

I mean, the shortcut on the desktop says "Internet Explorer" and the icon is a little blue e, so hey, it's got to be the same program right?

I was only half-surprised that I didn't have to explain the little red fox thing and everything else that was changed as "it's the latest version of Internet Explorer mum".

I bet previous versions of Firefox lacked some features that the current version has too. Could this be what we call Software Development? Where each release has features that the last didn't? I think it might be...

Older versions of the Mozilla engine have terrible support for standards, newer versions hav excellent support, I have to use old versions of Mozilla from time-to-time and it's REALLY annoying how it is completely incapable of rendering any pages with any degree of accuracy. But this is why we don't use old versions for judging software, plenty of software was worse in the past, we judge the present.

PS. Firefox ate my best Friend. Firefox will die. I will have my revenge.

IE's been around for some odd 10 years. Mozilla hasn't been around nearly as long, and Firefox started off like it is now (sans I think only the google toolbar), and it was still amazing.

PS. Firefox owns your soul, he's coming after you next.

Can't wait until I can get home, back to my beloved computer, and use FireFox, which is the only browser I have visible on my desktop and quicklancher. (I'm not going to pay money for a browser, and built-in ads are a killer, given that my combination of software suites and FireFox have made my Internet experience ad-free)

rit campus has proven to be quiet enlighed for most lab.

most labs on campus has several choices of browsers, first one is IE, second one is Mozilla Firefox, third one is Netscape.

and its quiet nice to have choices in which browsers you get to use, and ofc i makes an beeline to the mozilla firefox :)

now only if RIT would upgrade their AIM client list to include clients such as GAIM then i would be happy :)

But look at just 1 to 3... they are technically the same thing... a web browser.

You need to get Spy Bot S&D and Adaware. You'll be amazed at all the trackers and adware that you find. The way it works for me is, I'll use Firefox for two weeks, and nothing will get in. Then I'll get on IE once to look at some page I don't want to get the plugin for, and presto! Adware and Spyware! It’s almost spooky.

nottheking: If you don't want to use My Computer or Windows Explorer for looking at drives/folders, try this: http://netez.com/xplorer2/

I've been using it for a while now... no problems.

...and just as a side note, I'm using that with GeoShell. No explorer.exe at all in my processes list.
