HL2 Photo Contest

A simple contest for those of us with artistic qualities out there. Here are the rules:

    You must use Half Life 2 and only half life 2 for your shots.
    Your shots must be hosted on a secured server, so that it's consistant and does not have a bandwidth limit.
    Use the game's Screenshot method. This means, no pistols, hud etc in the view. I haven't played yet, so if this isn't possible, than ignore this rule.
    The photos will be judged by all of massassi in the end, but will be judged by creativity, and artistic quality. Capturing a pretty engine feature doesn't ensure you the win. You want to take shots with all the different concepts of photography in mind.
    The only photoshopping that may be done is resizing, and turning the pictures black and white. No exceptions.
    Images posted in this thread must be 640x480, but can link to any size.
    Only 3 entries per person.
    Contest ends on the 30th.

Artistic. The above isn't all that artistic. Get good angles, fill out the picture, etc. Make good shadows. Set up the scene. You CAN pick things up, remember?

Why haven't games started dealing with overlapping models yet? The faces look great, but the rest of the models look bad to me. Is that just because of a lower detail level in that shot?

Sorry I can't do DirectX9.0 screenshots (video card thing... GeforceFX 5900). I had to make sacrificing when upgrading from a pentium 4 1.4GHZ to an AMD64bit. So I cut some corners in Ram and the Card (since the processor was much more important at the time).

Yeah, IMO, everything in this game is of at least near-photorealistic quality. I have to find places where it DOESN'T look real instead of what does look real, if you know what I mean. :o

Good job guys. By the way, when I make the 'vote' thread, you'll be judged on your entire portfolio of pictures. This means, your pictures should compliment the others, so that you don't just have one single fantastic shot, and 2 just thrown in. Each person will get a single set of 3 showcased pictures, and the vote will be for particular people, not particular pictures. So I'd suggest you submit a minimum of 3, and then determine which out of all of them you post is the best.

By the way, those of you who have posted already, may want to resize your pictures to 600x800, as well as link to a larger shot, so that in the showcase thread, I can post all of your shots on the page as images with links to larger, higher quality images, that way 56kers can view the thread, as well as everyone can compair images between showcases without having to tab between multiple images.

I guess this can't count as an entry but I still think its funny how this bug just "happened" on my first time playing through it :D
