I'm going to go out and do stuff, like besides work. Call up ben, hang out. Maybe see the last samurai, go skydiving, whatever.
Get back into the gym...
I want to do stuff that prevents me from playin video games so I can only play them a few hours a day, basically.

Well you go through the game as a ninja apprentice and the more missions you complete, the more grades you get, and when you get a certain number of grades, you get a new belt. You can also get new swords and crap. Its awesome. I love it.

So let it get empty. If I kill something, it should stay dead, unless you have a reason for it to come back to life (ie, zombie). I thought the whole game was more about exploring than killing things, yet I found myself too worried about killing things I had already killed to explore that much. It's hard to jump around looking for some button to shoot when you have to keep disabling some stupid plants that should have DIED already.

Do WHAT?

You have never enjoyed a Mario game? You realise that the majority of platformers are based off of (but never topped) Super Mario 64 correct? You realise that the majority of games in the 2D era existed because of Super Mario Bros., right?

Never played a Zelda game? Geez man. That's worse than owning a PC but never playing DooM.

And who said he wasn't missing much!? I guess missing the absolute best in gaming isn't much.

But anyway, I don't know if you'd like a GameCube Sporko. If you don't like Mario games, or can sleep having missed Zelda games, I really don't think you'd appreciate it much. I consider GameCube to be much more "hardcore" than PS2 and certainly Xbox.

They tried to explain it a bit. If you scan some of the space pirate computers, they complain about the security breaches by alien organisms. Also, there's a good reason why the space pirate population "recovers" - check around the Phazon Mines and the Phendrana Drifts base and you'll find shielded doors to living quarters.

As for the plants... eh? If you're talking about those vine things, you have to use the Plasma Beam to kill them.

Gamecube is a great system to own. And at it's current price you can't go wrong. Just remember these titles when you go:

Make sure you get the cube that comes with the Zelda collector's disc. If you've never played a Zelda before you have four complete versions there to play through (granted 2 was lackluster to many). Make note of Ocarina of Time, which is one of the most incredible adventure games I've ever played.

Games you should own:

Zelda : Windwaker (play the demo on the collectors disc to be sure, it's really a great game with graphics that can be very convincing at times)
Metroid : Prime
Mario Kart Double Dash (2player cup games are the greatest thing in MP racing in a long time : Read below)
Soul Calibur II ( Incredible game. Sure, you can be like the 90 million other people who memorize "moves" to win, but I prefer to play the character with a sense of flow and style, giving my player a almost unbeatable quality. The best fighter out there yet, hands down.)
Super Smash Bros. Melee
Animal Crossing (Get this if you have a few people living with you who you don't mind sharing a game with. Great for a group who need something to pop on once a day and check up on.)
Dragonball Z : Budokai (Good fighter, cheap. Story sequences are compressed and still manage to include most of the stuff from the show. The first time I've seen dragonball's story told in a time efficient manner that was actually bearable.

2 player MK DD is so great. Basically one person drives while the other controls powerups and punching anyone who gets too close. If you have a good teammate you will have some of the most edge-of-your-seat races ever.

Wow, GameCube CDs are even smaller than I thought they were! They're so cute, hehe. Got my system, got a memory card, and I'll get some games the week after next. Have to buy christmas pressies before the credit card hits its limit, and until then there's Blockbuster [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]

Rented out Metroid Prime and Rogue Leader. RL is really cool, gonna buy that. Anyone got any advice on Rebel Strike? MP has potential, but I couldnt get into it as I had no freaken idea what was going on. Maybe I need to RTFM. I'll be renting out Zelda: Windwaker next.

I found Mario 64 really annoying and the old NES Mario games considerably boring, Josh. The platform games I have liked are few and very far between. They're just so damn frustrating.

A few people have mentioned Soul Calibur 2 so far. Yeah that game is good and deserves a lot of merit, but IMO it pales in comparison to the original. Soul Calibur simply has a better fighting system, much more devoid of cheap moves. Also my friend has a DreamCast and 2 arcade sticks, which are roughly a billion times better than fighting with a gamepad [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]

It'd be a ton easier to get into Metroid Prime if you played Super Metroid or Metroid Fusion, admittedly.

Trust me, if you are in any way proficient with the system, you can counter any cheap move in the book. What most people don't realize about SCII is the system is so flexible that, sure people can whore cheap moves in succession, but it won't help when they can't land a hit cause they are too busy trying to avoid you long enough to land one move.
