Yoshi.. doubleshot? Uh.. I've played through the game twice and I don't know what that is. Is it some sort of secondary fire on the shotgun?

Aargh, I'm stuck right after the crane, where you're being attacked by a gunship and the bridge is out... no matter what I do, I can't seem to get across the bridge (not to mention the fact that the Tau cannon is useless against the gunship, and I have no more ammo left for the RPG)

Actually, I did get across the bridge once.... ~sv_gravity 10

You're not supposed to cross that bridge..
You're supposed to go off the road along a trail that takes off near the start of the bridge..

If it's the bridge I'm thinking of, you are supposed to cross it. Use your turbo to make the jump. And wherever there's a gunship, there's rockets. You'll know when to get out and fight it.

You have to use turbo to get over the jump on the very first beach...

Playing it on medium now. I just passed the part where you get a squad of soldiers following you the first time. Gonna meet up with Barney soon and hopefully take out one of the striders.

I don't know about you guys, but it took me at least 10 tries to beat the part in Nova Prospect where you're in the middle of a cell block with four doors the Combine enters through and only three turrets for you to use. I finally beat it by placing the turrets around a side room and covering them from there.

I beat that bit by hiding in a corner and putting them all around me. The trick is to full up on health and armor before and never move once they start coming in.

I devised a clever way to deal with that part. I went in one of the little side rooms, and only set up two of the turrets in there. I stuck them in the far back of the room, and squished up against one side, then I hide behind them. I never get hit. Furthermore, you always hold down the alt fire of the grav gun and aim in the middle of the door. Thus, when combine throw nades in there, your gun picks them up, then you can spew them back out.

Otherwise your turrets will get naded.

The best way to beat the 2nd turret thing?

Just take the 2 turrets with you from the first time you use them.


So insead of 3 turrets you have 5 guarding the whole area and the best way to set them up would be in the health and HEV station. Have 2 facing each direction in that little hole and keep the odd one as back (already in your hand or just placing it where they are pushing through more). THen just wait in a secluded area (prefable one of the places where you got the turrets from) and re-mount them if they fall..... rarely happens though. I miss the old HL1 grunts, they threw grenades all day, these combine guys are just too conservative.

Better yet you can take those 5 turrets with you to the last turret puzzle thing

Just beat it now. Improved gravity gun > *. It's so fun flinging one soldier at a group and watching them all barrel down. It's also fun to shoot the energy balls at the strider and the gunships.

But the ending...aaarrrrgghhhh!!!

You can't do this to me Valve! Not when I paid for a good story. I was enjoying the storyline, and the characters, when bam! End. Not cool at all.

I knew about turbo then, but I forgot when I went to make the jump. I got out and shot the buggy over the cliff edge with the gravity gun.

I had a hard time with that too, until my sister had the suggestion of of barricading myself in one of the corridors the connected the two rooms by putting all the crates and drums on one end and all the turrets on the other.
