I heard today that we no longer are allowed to say "black coffee", it's been changed to "coffee without beans".
This really annoys me, what's racist about black coffee?! I could just turn round and say, well, "white coffee" is offensive.

And blackboard, oh no, you cant say that anymore. It's now a chalkboard. I mean for gods sake!

Black is a colour! People cant escape it!

I'm no racist if anyone suspects that, as things like "police woman" being changed to "police officer", "house wife" becoming "home maker", and "post man" being changed to "post person" annoy me too. I have quite alot of friends who are black, and even they agree this is stupid.

I cant believe we cant even say Bar Bar Black Sheep anymore. I'm sure somewhere down the line there will be trouble sparked by this :(

political correctness annoys the hell out of me too.

I'm getting really tired of people moaning about political correctness.

Really, I've never actually ever heard anyone complain about 'blackboard' or 'black coffee'. I've only ever heard people complaining about people complaining about them. The whole 'it's political correctness gone too far!!!' thing is getting really old.

see, it's phrases like 'African-American' that really are 'political correctness gone crazy', as that's actually something that's in common usage.

Well, many words, due to social influence, can tend to have different meanings. Not really uncommon.

Yes, that's just it, no-one ever actually does. It's only ever people complaining about people saying that, when no-one actually does.

well, techinicaly, not all dark skined americans have an african heritage. It is just that a minority of them are those that think that white people are racists.

it is not just african americans, the palm islanders are all annoyed beacuse they think that the police used excessive force (ie. regular riot police protacol) to stop them from destoying property and burning down police buildings and other forms of violence.

So what's going to happen to that one episode of Seinfeld?

This is insane. Our children will be raised unable to speak without being "politically correct."
Since when are politics correct, anyway? :p

I actually have heard a lot of black people who hate the term "African-American." (Whoopi Goldberg, for instance.)
OMG I SAID BLACK PERSON!!!

Unless you have dual citizenship to at least one country in America and one country in Africa, you can't accurately be called African-American, imo.

well that's just cuz she's not, so it's like saying u are from a place u arent, I can see how she got annoyed, but nothing to get super pisssed about. She just needs to correct the people so they will know better for next time.
