What makes this really sad is how much of a DOUBLE STANDARD this is. Take look at the last page of this job application

Notice how they refer to all the races by either continent or ethnicity but they call those that are europeon WHITE. Apparently, we have to have respect for all the other races but those white people... who cares about giving them some respect

I'm getting really tired of this "political correctness" BS. It reminds me of the "Freedom Fries" over in the US (as a way to pay the french back for Afganistan), and the "Holiday Tree" at Toronto City Hall (they eventually just called it a Christmas tree and left it at that).

Other "politically correct" things don't make sense, such as the change from BC (Before Christ)/AD (Ano Domini) callender to the BCE (Before Current Era)/CE(Current Era). It makes utterly no sense: only people that follow Christianity really recognize the callender system (according to China, its the year 6000), so I'm left wondering: how are we making things more fair to other races and religions by tagging every single thing that moves with a euphamism?

That had nothing to do with PC. That was just an attempt to mock the french. You do know that the "Hot Dog" was really called the "Frank Futer" (SP?), right? We renamed it because we were pissed at the Germans during WWI. We also renamed "Sour Kraut" as "Liberty Salad" but that didn't stay too long.

Mostly because white people don't get all whiny about their race. I can't recall ever hearing a white person try to play the race card, or getting upset if someone called them something other than white. This is in my experience, so I am generalizing based on my experience.

BCE and CE are only used in scientific areas such as astronomy and geology.

it also is more correct (i.e. not answered wrong) then B.C as most hitorians that study that era know that king herrod was dead before what we refer to as 1 B.C. So technicaly, it should be something like 2007-2009 or something like that. Also, 2000 years ago is regarded as a major turning point in the earth's culture.

I work at a coffee shop and always say 'Black coffee' although whenever I say it to a black person I always expect them to be like "HELL NA!" and throw it back at me..... I'm not racist, I just dont like being burned.
