I really thought people would rise above flame wars in a discussion such as this. Several people were killed, and the majority of the posts on this thread are about how stupid someone else is...

Stop giving Mikus the attention he wants; that's all I've got to say on that topic.

Sad news, he was such an excellent guitarist. My opinion on the matter can pretty much be summed up in Bowling for Columbine.
Moo.

Apparently the motives were because of the break up of Pantera.. seriously..

I live 20min away from the Al Rosa Villa (Where this happened) I regularly went in there atleast once a week to every other week just to hear local bands play (And my own band..)

I was unaware of the show last night and if I would've known I would have gone. I know people who went to the show however.

Apparently alot of the crowd thought maybe it was appart of the show, because seriously it's so surreal. One of the other audience members Nathan Bray went to my high school (Couple years older than myself)

Some witnesses said Gale took a person hostage. Minutes later, a Columbus police Officer James D. Niggemeyer entered the nightclub and shot and killed Gale, police said.

This is true, he did take a hostage. The hostage managed to "fall down" enough time for the officer to react with his shot gun.

I'm stunned.. and another bad thing is, the Al Rosa Villa probably will be shut down. It was a huge venue for local bands to play shows and a cool envirnment to hang out and watch them. Even if it was a hole in the wall peice of s**t bar..

The problem is one, there is no officer on duty. Two, they don't check you at the door. The people that collect your ticket sit behind a wall so if you wanted to carry an assult rifle.. I'm sure you could get away with it.

Other venue's around the area do "pat you down" and what not.. But it's just a shame..

I know, it's really stupid. He is a really messed up person.

It's really pissed me off for a long time that people are allowed to say things like this here. Censoring swear words but allowing people to tell each other to kill themselves is so backwards it's offensive. You're being as bad as he is.

I't's strange you all are so surprised by the way Mikus is acting. He's always been compassion-deficient.

A few years ago i was a big fan of Pantera. It truly shocked and saddend me to hear the news. It's a shame how it often only takes one screwed up individual to ruin it for everyone. He will be missed as one of the best and most popular metal guitarists of the last decade.

He's a former marine and no one ever thought he was capable of violence..

No, the fact that he was trained in the art of violence shouldn't matter!

I just heard about this today (my internet's been down for the past week or so).

I'm a big Pantera fan, so this well and truly sucks.
I bet you think that's funny, don't you.

Still... very.. capable.... of... violence.

If anything, he should have been considered more dangerous if he was nutty. COMMIT THE WELL TRAINED NUTS I SAY!

You know as the starter of the thread, I think I should clarify that I wasn't really shaken up about this or anything. He was a pretty good guitar player. He had a wild looking axe, but I'm not really a Pantera fan. You all basically know how I feel about death. It's just the last part of life. I don't really think death is a big deal, but this was kinda crappy. I mean the guy was on stage playing music ffs, and some jackass just comes up and blows him away? Who does that? Honestly! The guy made music. Music is one of the greatest things in the world. And the guy shot him. That's some serious bull****.
