Return of the King: Extended Edition

The best part of the new EE was the restored scene where they speak with saruman. That scene was BUTCHERED in the theatrical addition. BUTCHERED. The EE didn't follow the book exactly, but at least it MADE SENSE. Instead of the "Hey, its wet over here, whats going on Treebeard? Whoa, there's a giant black pearl in the water, well gotta go beeayches, see ya later" that comprised the original.

Just curious, is Saruman completely taken care off in the Extended Edition(ie. killed), or do they just leave him up there?
The answer is maybe.

Yes, he dies. I couldn't wait to see that scene, it spiked my interest.

I was kinda wet after seeing that scene.

...what?

Having read a few theories and possible spoilers about how Saruman was possibly going to die in the RotK movie, I think I got your point.
The answer is maybe.

Ah, burrie, you're very sharp. You don't miss a trick, do you? You're so clever, I wish I could be just like you.

I always thought Wormtongue was a little prick.

Its implied in the book that Worm Tongue kills saruman, although never really explicitly stated. I thought the movie rendition of it was a good take on the original plot.

I didnt read the books myself, so I'm not positive. But I remember hearing several ways in which sarumon died or there were originally several ways, something to taht degree. One being He insults wormtongue for one last time, and wormtongue has enough of his constant bashing of him, so he kills Sarumon himself. Among the one in the EE, and a few others I cant quite recall.

That's the way I remember it too. In the EE Jackson sorta compacted that whole scouring of The Shire bit into 4 minutes, minus The Shire.

Wow the EE is so much better. It feels more coherent and extra battle scenes are always a plus. It also makes me realize how great LotR's music is....

Yeah the extened scenes even had music written specifically for those scenes. So not only do you get new scenes but new music too.

Well, it would kinda suck if the new scenes didnt have new music... :p

I love the extended edition's new music added to the scenes. It's amazing. The highest praise should go to Howard Shore for it...

So when is the extended soundtrack coming out for all movies? I have to say, Lords of the Ring would not be as great as current is if it weren't for the music. It's just like Star Wars in terms of how important the music is to a film.
