Yeah, how's this for odd? My parents haven't been the least bit interested in my love-life my entire life, and now that prom is soon my Dad all of a sudden seems concerned that if I don't find a date and go it will mean I'm a social failure.

Well matty, you have to think that what U3 was showing was the ungodly amount of detail in their levels. the only thing that wasnt detailed was the bump mapped bricks, which fooled me at first glance. D3 on the other hand relies A LOT on bump mapping, rather than actual level detail. Also... i doubt D3's models are 15,000+ polys, maybe a third of that.

yeah! That's what I wanted to say in the first place. U3 is just more but not that innovativ. Tough that shader stuff like the colored window and that transparent thing are cool!

Doom 3 = just about graphics and other crap
JK = crappy graphics, but still somehow cool

Since Doom 3 isn't out yet you shouldn't assume it's just all about graphics.
