Anyone seen this flick yet? Is it worth your money? I just bought it, so I'm gonna watch it, obviously. But I just wanted to see what your opinions are/were...

I think it's the best of the Matrix movies.

I liked it. But the goth/bondage club scene sucked IMO. Trinity with her cliche spin around kick thing camera slow down move. Other then that I loved it. Critics suck. I remember seeing it in theaters and saying "Oh my god this is so freaking cool!"

I agree that the 360-degree pan + kick is a little bit tired by now, but the scene was interesting, imo.

I was kind of hoping that they killed merovingian when I first saw this, but too bad, eh?

Better than the second, not as good as the first, but a well-done movie in itself, in my opinion.

I loved it. actually SAJN, i was suprised to know that roger ebert loved it(his review is on the back cover), so i guess every critic didnt hate it (in fact one of the "best" loved it)

Definately worth the buy, since it's only 15 bucks at target/walmart. It beats reloaded by... quite a bit and almost catches up to the original movie.

The movie was excelent (superbrawl being my favourite scene, with the battle for Zion being a close second), but no DVD will ever compare to "The Matrix Revolutions: The IMAX Experience" (they did the same for "Lord of the Rings: Return of the King", but it was just a standard film projected onto an imax screen [http://forums.massassi.net/html/eek.gif].

I hated the end. The Zion scene got too long. The Smith fight was like a live action DBZ fight, though Smith's last monologue rocked.

It was a weak movie plot wise, in my opinion. It was like.... let's introduce some new characters and a new plot line... ::thirty minutes later...:: JUST KIDDING! THE REAL PLOT STARTS NOW!

Eh... just my opinion.

Some of the action scenes are kinda cool, but that's as far as the good points go for Revolutions. The plot raises more questions than it answers, which I think is inexcusable for the final chapter of a trilogy. I need closure, dammit!

You might have thought about it too much, spork. a lot of people think about it too much. the only real open ended thing was if they were going to see neo again, and that was just a way for the wachowski's to have the 'tell the story on multiple mediums' and extend the story to the matrix online.

I thought that the matrix online thing had collapsed.

As to the movie, i thought it was excellent, rather better than reloaded, not as good as the original. But y'know.

The final fight-scene with Smith got really long. Like after about the 17.sonic-boom-punching-eachother thing i was all yeah.. turn off god mode you lamerz.

The Deus Ex head thing was way cool i thought, that whole sequence really.

I can't remember now if that whole extended drawn-out random pointless tribal mosh dance rave gratefuldeadconcert randomsexage thing was in revolutions or reloaded but that whole time i was all.. um.. wtf.. what.. why.. blink.. um ok.. shrug. It was just totally pointless filler as far as i was concerned. Though it did draw a nice contrast to the bondage club dance rave scene.

But yeah they totally brought a lot up in the second one at least that they seem to have just ignored or forgotten by the third one. Like that whole mythologies are actually drawn from broken programs thing that they never mentioned again. Or my personal question about is the Oracle programming people with her cookies and candies and stuff, like every scene she is in she offers food to people, then take that with the whole Merovingian's cake-aphrodesiacs code or whatever. Maybe that's part of why the second movie seemed kinda out of place or whatever, they just brought a lot of new stuff into it without real precedent, and then ignored it all again in the third.

One of my other issues in the third movie was a lot of the plot or characters seem to have been drawn from that bloody enter the matrix video game or something. So instead of just continuity between movies, i was supposed to have played that stupid thing as well to understand who the hell some of these people were.

That, and neither 2 nor 3 had Switch in it, and thus there was serious lossage there.

Before it came out I was in #Massassi ranting about how bad it was, I think. To put it in more basic terms, the DVD release didn't improve on the film itself.

When i saw this I thought "Best matrix ever!" But now that I think of it I liked Reloaded the best, then the First, then Revolutions...Reloaded just had some really badass scenes, plus excellent music. The third had crap for music, and the first was good too. Overall I just think Reloaded is the best film..minus the Weird sex scene and the KFC guy.

Revolutions was wonderful, though not nearly as good as the first and original, it improved MUCH on Reloaded. I love the Matrix trilogy overall though, the symbolism it packs in it is just mindblowing. It draws from almost every religious document made to date, and does it well. The Wachowski brothers put a LOT of thought into the sequels, even if it doesn't seem like it. If you don't believe me, I'll give you a site which gives in-depth and rather good explanations on this.

I thought revolutions was pretty good, especially the bit with all the APUs and sentinels. I would have liked a bit more info about how Neo figured out what to do, but the only scene that really confused me was the bondage club scene.

I remember Morpheus, Trinity and Seraph walking in and being surrounded by the crowd and then somehow Persephone's breasts managed to get Neo released from the train station. Weird.
2004-04-11, 2:00 PM #32
The first was simply amazing, best movie I've seen in a long time.

The second was all action, which bothered me, until I saw the Smith scene. I shut up right about then.

The final movie was utterly odd. It didn't feel like a matrix movie, at all. Cheasy lines, sideplots simple to show CGI, DBZ Fight-scenes (I thought they said that it was based on Japanime, not crapanime), and worst of all, the ceiling fighting scene. The third movie was more of a bad fantasy film than the third installment on one of the greatest movies ever. Just didn't fit into line, in my opinion.

Lastly, on a film-level, the 1st movie stomped on the rest. Simple lighting effects changed entire moods, and camera angles were used that no one had even thought of yet, let alone used. The bullet time being one of the more importent, but other simple shots also helped to make it a unique experience. While at the other end of the spectrum, number 3 has absolutelly no creativity as far as cameras go except for 2 scenes: The Train-station, and the part with cypher on the ship. All else was idiotic action-movie cliche scenes. Movie two is amazingly well done, as far as film magic goes. A lot of great angles make that one a prime example of how to do an action flick.

Loved the First One
Liked the Second One
Disliked the Third One.

First off, Revolutions had I think a total of about 8 lines from Morpheus. They could've killed him off in Reloaded, and it wouldn't matter because his role played no part in Revoltuions. By 8 lines, I seriously mean, 8 lines, and maybe some extra lines of just "170 degrees left....check"

Secondly, I didn't like the SFX at all. The last fight was really cool I thought, and the cinematogrophy was great, but, the SFX was awful and I thought was too distracting.

And also, it had soem awful cliche. The whole Trinity going out of the train aand running towards Neo. And then, I know there was some awful lines when they first enter the big machine world.

Also, and this is just opinion, the ending didn't work for me. From the second movie, you could make a pretty clear assumption that Neo was the Christ figure. So, you know what the hell happens!

And is it just me, or does the Chief in the Zion fight yell "FAZIRE!!!!!!"

Here's my take on the movies.

The Matrix:
I watched it in theaters when I was in 11. I thought it was okay probably because I didn't totally understand it. Four years later, I watched it ago and totally love it. The whole "you are living in a fake world" was intriguing (yeah it was probably done before, but the Matrix was the first for me). Alot of the lines are memorable in the Star Wars kind of way. The movie had great special effects, it was the first movie I ever seen where some guy would try to dodge bullets. The lobby shoot out was very cool. The way Neo and Trinity dispassionately walked into the lobby and started shooting everyone was the epitome of cool. I like how the story was basically told through Morpheus too. He was kind of like an Obi Wan figure to Neo.

Matrix Reloaded:
The main problem with this movie is that there is a lack of character development (or is that a good thing? Some people say The Hulk had too much character development?). Morpheus didn't have that many lines in this movie as the first one. I didn't really feel for any of the characters in the movie this time around. There are also many plot holes unless you played Enter the Matrix. However if you look at this film as nothing more than an action flick, it definitely delivers. I'm a fan of kung fu and to me, this movie had the best action scenes out of the three (Keanu's kung fu has improved since the last one). The Seraph V.S. Neo fight, chateau, and Burly Brawl were great. Morpheus was a badass with that katana (someone post that picture, that has to be one of the most badass picture I ever seen).

Matrix Revolutions
Okay this movie is kind of like a combination of Reloaded and the Matrix. It introduced some new characters, which was mostly a bad idea. As they seem to brush aside the old, Morpheus lines are even fewer now. The only thing he said was something like "I believe in you Neo". They seem to make it too obvious that Neo symbolizes Christ with the dialoge. Speaking of which, the Oracle really annoys me in this one. I hate how she keeps on saying lines like "You know the answer" even when Neo repeatedly says he doesn't. I didn't like how a small part of the film took place in the Matrix. There are also some plot holes with Seraph. When exactly did he meet the Merovingian and for what reason (bounty hunting?)? When did he meet Smith? How did he beat him before? Why does he has gold coding back in Reloaded? The action scenes were okay, the scenes with Seraph were cool. However, the Zion V.s. machine wasn't all that great. It felt too much like Terminator and not like the Matrix. The Superbrawl was okay, it's great when they're fighting on the ground, but the air battles felt like a combination of DBZ/Superman.

All I know is that the brothers who created these movies are starting milk it like old George. I believe they said that the next Matrix game will explain the Seraph questions that I imposed.

Oh and what do you guys think is the worst acted scene in the movie involving Keanu Reeves? In the scene where Morpheus tells him to climb out the window, Keanu was acting way too calm when he said "this can't be happening to me."

Run wins.

I liked all of them, although Reloaded was a step down from the first and last.

I said it once, I'll say it again. Give me the super battle in Superman 2. At least they threw cars and stuff. I like how Revolutions built up to the fight scene at the end, and then they made it suck. Of course, this is coming from someone who doesn't like anime.

My favorite part was when Neo fights Agent Smith on the ship in the real world. I felt it was good suspense in an otherwise dull movie.

Superman 2 is really unbeatable though.
