The only choice IS Bit Torrent, it would be a lot faster without torrent. This is why I hate torrent, it is either SUPER fast, or SUPER slow, there is like no in between...It's at 7% after hours of downloading...

my brother in law played this game for... uh... ever.
he was an "arc" (i think that's what it's called...) kinda like a junior GM
he gave up AO this year when he got hooked on CoH, heh

i may give AO a try some time soon... sounds fun

Setup tells me to run Install, so I run install and I get this...

Yeah, I ended up having to redownload since the first DL didn't work for me, and the download is so freaking slow it hurts.

Teh only way to get BitTorrent to work effectively is to make sure you have all your ports configured correctly. It makes such a huge differnce. Before I configured my ports, I couldn only d/l at about 40KBs. After, around 320KB/s.

also limit your upload while downloading

i generally limit to 2 uploads and 5KB/s

Anouncing it can't be good. hopefully they filter some people out, because so many people will be joining, it won't be funny when we can't have a normal experience. Plus, the payed players are going to have a natural biased against us. I'm worried.

Man, I hate BitTorrent. I'm getting about 3k/sec...

I don't have control over my ports, so I can't just open them up, and my dad doesn't want to open them up. Why can't they just use normal downloading? BitTorrent is worthless unless there are other people downloading it at the same, time, anyway. It should be like other, better, programs where you can get files even after other people have finished downloading them (and closed the window).

That's the thing with MMORPGs, rather than aging many get BETTER with time.

Well, Everquest sort of hit a glass ceiling and it can't really improve without changing the fundemental game mechanics. I'd say it took a dip after the Kunark expansion, as the old style Ogre was far better than the new one.

Okay, I just got Anarchy Online, and I was not terribly impressed. Perhaps I've been spoiled by the userfriendliness of World of Warcraft, but after a good hour of having no idea what I was supposed to do or how to do it I got bored and quit.

Now I'm downloading Puzzle Pirates!
