I wonder if the real Optimus Prime will have a cameo? (The soldier who changed his name.)

So what do you think the target audience is for this movie? I like to know how you can create a serious plot for this movie.

Speilberg has made a few good movies, some average ones and some truly forgettable ones. In my opinion, ET is overrated. But anyway - The original cartoons took some atristic licence for the transformers in their humaniod state, so they don't look all out of proportion like the toys kinda did (anyone remember the toy of megatron?). The vehicle was always spot on - it was the humanoid form that was compromised. It will be interesting to see what the humanoid forms will look like.

Yeah Speilberg's carreer has really sucked if you ask me.

Indiana Jones
Jurrassic Park
Schindler's List
Saving Private Ryan
Catch Me if you Can
Minority Report

Yeah he doesn't know how to make movies does he?

Damn it, I have no opinion on the Transformer movie.

But I do have an opinion on people thinking anything Speilberg does is gold.

Yes, he has some awesome movies under his belt.

But he has some ones that I don't like either.

I'm not going to blindly *** kiss the ground he walks on just because his name is "Speilberg". I judge a movie when I see it. I'm not going to go in like "Oh, it's a Speilberg movie, it must be good!"

Meh, it could be a good thing if done right. Spielberg still knows how to make a good film. I just hope they use the original story/bots rather than the horrible abomination that Transformers has become since I grew up.

Also, reading that story about how much people are paying for the old school transformers makes me weep. I had almost all of the ****ing things.

Just curious but have you people seen the transformers movie (the original one from 1986). I have the DVD and I still consider one of my favorites, even if it does seem a bit corny to watch now at my age.

You forgot the parts of AI that he slaughtered, like putting the nonsensical ending on it. It had about the same result as the underwater ending just it was dull, slow and highly unneeded.

Catch me if you can wasn't bad but hardly comparable to a franchise like Transformers.

Minority Report had some good parts but got boring pretty quickly, granted it was rather exciting and there was some nice twists in there but that was good for a couple viewings.

Those are most of his latest films, just because someone's done great work doesn't mean all their work is gold. Eventually they start thinking too much of their work. *coughlucas*cough* It could be that Spielberg might be getting there too.

Granted yes Spielberg is working on this. I have a little more confidence in it not royally sucking.
Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.

Is it the one with the planet-eating robot(Unicron?), strange three-headed judges who kill people wether they are guilty or innocent, dancing robots, voiced by one of the blokes from Monty Python(with 'Vlib Vlam Miniglalg' being some sort of galactic greeting that everyone understood), and Optimus Prime and Megatron have their final fight where 'one will stand, and one shall fall'? If so, I have. My brother bought it on DVD, and I recently saw it again. Quite an awesome movie, actually.
The answer is maybe.

Yes, Unicron, the quintessons, Eric Idle as wreck gar, and it is awesome indeed.

Stan Bush Soundtrack - cheese heaven!

ROCK!

the quintessons

They're those three-headed judges, roit? That scene baffled me as a kid, and it baffled me when I saw it recently, it just didn't seem to make any sense. They were innocent and WHOOP, thrown into an acid pit or something. It was only when I did some research where I learned that originally one of the autobots said something along the likes of "It doesn't matter wether you're guilty or innocent, you're always destroyed".

Some things DO need to be spelled out for me, I suppose.
The answer is maybe.

Hey, maybe after this, Spielberg will make Jaws 5, starring a shark that transforms into boats.

I would so pay to see that.

But Lucas hasn't had blockbuster movies coming out every couple years for the past 25 years, or 2 Oscars to his credit for his directing ability. You put Spielburg's name on ANY movie and it generates $100 million.

I think they chose the perfect guy. Spielburg could direct a potty training movie and it'd sell millions.

No, Kubrick ruined A.I. Every Kubrick movie I've seen sucked.
I can't think of anything to put here right now.

For anyone thinking that live action transformers will look stupid, I am betting they wont make them all flashy and colorful like they are in the cartoons, but rather metallic colored, like bronze, dark grey, gold, silver, etc. None of this torquois torso with pink arms and a blue head with orange legs stuff.

He has a point. How often do you see cars driving down the road like that? These things are robots in DISGUISE. They shouldn't be the color of the rainbow.
I can't think of anything to put here right now.
