Already have an iPod? Get an iPod Shuffle FOR FREE!
2005-01-20, 7:20 AM #1
That's right kids, if you already own an iPod you can get an iPod shuffle FOR FREE!

Here's how it works...

Go to the main menu on your iPod. Click 'Settings. Next go to 'Shuffle' and set it on Songs. Now go back to the main menu. Click 'Music'. Click Artists. Then click 'All'. Enjoy.

Or better still you can go to the main menu, and just press the 'Shuffle Songs' button...

You skipped the part with the hacksaw and the getting it down the same size as an iPod Shuffle.

And removing the screen.

And reducing its storage capacity.

An iPod Shuffle?

Dunno really, to be honest; stopped thinking about those things once I saved up enough for my iPod. But a gig for £100 seems like a damn good deal to me.
2005-01-20, 8:07 AM #10
Perhaps, yes. But it's always nice to be able to pick the song you want to hear.
2005-01-20, 8:11 AM #11
What? It's actually stuck on shuffle? That's a big naff.

Even though mine is permanantly on shuffle <.<

You do realize the shuffle option can be turned on or off?

Good luck finding that one song amidst however many you have on the iPod Shuffle.

Why would you search for a song when you are on a bike or snowboarding? You have a deathwish?
2005-01-20, 9:40 AM #16
I just got this new music player; it's amazing. It has no limit on how many songs it can play, and it only cost 15 dollars! Battery life is great too.

Right now I have it set on 105.3

And wierdly enough, if you walked close to me with my iTrip on you'd pick up whatever I'm listening to! (If iwas in my car)

Small world innit?

Man, unless you are controlling the 105.3 playlist, you still aren't listening to what you want to listen to.

Not only that, you don't get to choose what songs to put on the thing. It picks randon stuff from iTunes.

Radios suck because there are commercials and too many stations play crappy music.

I actually started shuffling my music this week. Makes it more fresh and enjoyable not to know what song is on next. Because you'll go from... say Coldplay to Metallica to Phantom Planet to Outkast to Irish Traditional to U2. Then for some reason it plays U2 for a while.

I just love how Apple acts like they've invented some brand new product.

Hello?! Anyone else notice how they reinvent the wheel and try to pass it off and something new?

MP3 players have been around a LONG time, even with shuffle. And every single damned one of them had at least a timer screen on it with track numbers, and of course, SHUFFLE. Then they try to act like the battery life is something good? My iRiver lasts for 27 hours on one freakin AA.

No thanks Apple, I'll stick with companies who come out with items that are feature rich, cheaper, and better in ever way, in exchange for a slightly better looking case. (And it's not even smaller!!! ARGH!)

1GB ~150 songs. Good luck getting to 150 without any navigation.

1GB ~ 240 songs*
Think while it's still legal.
2005-01-20, 1:30 PM #26
Selecting my top 240 mp3s, it came out to 1.5 GB, in addition the player will actually have significantly less that exactly 1GB. I see your *... EXPLAIN YOURSELF!

Selecting my smallest 240 mp3s, it comes out to 711MB, my shortest 240 came out to 870MB.
It's possible to fit a lot of songs on there, but the more you have the harder it will be to find anything

I was wondering the same thing Cool Matty!

Everyone saying "Ohh I want an mp3 player, should I get an ipod or an ipod shuffle or .." HELLO! There are hundreds of other mp3 players that are...

1.) Cheaper
2.) ALOT smaller
3.) Cheaper
4.) Smaller

But I guess everyone wants an Ipod cus it's "hip"

Hooray for BBC.

I'm much more pleased with my DAB digital radio than I was with my mp3 player. I just want some portable DAB radio now.

Except my DAB digital radio has a funny habit of automatically tuning in to the Gaydar radio station when I don't want it to.

1 GB for $150 and 512MB for $100 is AMAZINGLY low priced.

If you enjoy all your music the shuffle shouldn't matter to you.

BUT OMG I GET IN CERTAIN SPECIAL MOODS!

Bleh, oh well then. Atleast I think the ipod shuffle is awesome.

CM, people like ipods becuase they are quality products.

People like Ipods because they are the most publicized mp3 player by far and they are sleek and stylish. Sure they are quality, but so are tons of other quality mp3 players for better value...Also, Ipods are huge as far as mp3 players go! Mine could fit on a friggin keychain

Can you do me a favor and never say "thrice-so" again?

Thanks..
