The Corpse Bride - Teaser Trailer

Looks like Burton is getting back to his roots. It's cool that they're using CG and making it look like stop-motion.

Sure looks like the knocked the animation quality up a few notches, thank god.

While its only a teaser trailer, I'm confused about the plot.

Johhny Depp strikes me as perfect for that role.
Pissed Off?

It looks great. But I thought it was stop animation that looks like CG, not the other way around.

With a considerable amount of CG.

Though, atleast the animation seems competant this time around.

Burton has used Depp in numerous amounts of his movies (Edward Scissorhands, Ed Wood, Sleepy Hollow, etc.). It's like John Carpenter to Kurt Russel. I liked Nightmare Before Christmas, so this should be great!

It is Depp, it says his name in the trailer, plus it was announced about a year ago. -_-

The lighting, is mostly CG. And they probably do alot of smoothing.

How can you tell it's stop motion? To me it seems too smooth to be stop motion; not just in the body movements but in the mouths too. It just doesn't feel like stop motion, and it does bear resemblance to CG.

It's basically the same as claymation.

Though these days they use foam.

It's when the have models and the take a frame shot of them, then move the models a little, take another frame, move the models again, take another frame, move the models again, and so on, and so forth.

Considerably higher quality stop motion animation than the last stop motion film he did.

I don't think that you can compare your own stop-animation with their earlier stop-animation and use "competent" with that tone (internet tone).

Have you ever seen the original King Kong? Now there's some serious stop motion action. It stops a lot.
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.

Well technically Burton didn't do that, it was directed by someone else, but it was essentially Burton in every other aspect. It's true though, there could have been amazing advancements in the way of stop motion.

I've never done any work in stop motion. Far too tedious.

What I was pointing out is that the quality animation here is much higher compared to his last stop motion film.

I'm pretty sure it's stop-motion and it just looks really really good. If I remember correctly Burton or someone that was working on the film said it was stop-motion.
