I don't like that the characters in The Simpsons are being changed so much. Flanders was never an obsessive religious fanatic, he was a calm, accommodating, pious man. The worst new "gag" they do is when Homer does something really stupid and then her repeats it and repeats it again (and at this point I guess it could be funny) but then he repeats it like nine more ****ing times and it just pisses me off. The new writers have to ****ing go. Also, the voice acting is getting weak, the jokes sound forced. The Simpsons shouldn't try to be like Family Guy where stupid dumbasses make stupid jokes, it should be an honest portrayal of an American family and the town they live in. If something funny comes out of this, good. If the whole episode doesn't have a single funny moment but stays true to what it's about (i.e. not trying to be funny), then it's awesome just the same. Some of my favourite episodes aren't really all that funny, like "Summer of 4 ft. 2" and "Viaje Misterioso de Nuestro Homer". I can't think of any others right now, but these episodes are just beautiful. All this crap happens and it's funny because it's a cartoon but it feels so real, because it reminds us of all the stupid **** that gets us down. Futurama is amazing because it has such strong, developed characters, that are deep. I loved when Bender was crying about "robots not having emotions". Episodes where Fry tries to impress Leela so she would go out with him or even like him the way he likes her, but she keeps turning him down; and all those episodes about friendship, like when Bender is lost, drifting through space and Fry, trying to find him using a telescope that is being used to find God, pleads "You have eternity to find God, all I'm asking for is one measly lifetime to find my friend". It's just beautiful.
